Carried on where i left off yesterday.

Painted the other side of the bottom end and gave the first side a 2nd coating.

Also rubbed down the sump again to get rid of the crap swirly bits, seems to look much better 2nd time round:

Plenty more lined up over the next few days.

Started to clean up some alternator bits today so ill have a bash at reassembling that again.

Getting a quote from a place called Cyliner Rebore's for fitting all my bottom end parts and checking that over thoroughly. They'll also put the head back on and do all the timing and sealing up properly :y:

Just a case of putting all the other little bits and bobs back on then. Engine should still be on target for being ready for transplanting by christmas

looks awesome mate:y: coming on really well:)

jpsaxo 16th October 2007 13:13

Good stuff mate, if you get your cyclinder's rebored you will need over sized pistons, forgies are cheaper than replacement citroen ones ;) ;) Lol

willsy 16th October 2007 13:29

Josh i get the impression you're urging me on to get forgies :p

Havn't heard back from QEP yet, wonder how theyre getting on with my head. Will give them a call tomorrow for an update.

You think??? ;) If you can stretch then you might as well while the bottom ends in bits - IMO. You said about the compression and other bits and bobs, Its high miles engine so chances are your going to have in the next few years depending on milage you do in the future, condition the engines in, in general etc.

willsy 16th October 2007 13:45

Say again? tbh no idea what that means. Still learning plenty as i go along.

BHP wise im unsure, Josh might be able to give a fairly accurate ballpark figure.

If i can hit 150bhp at the fly ill be pleased, if not ill change a few other bits here and there until ive surpassed it. Thats when modding will stop.

jpsaxo 17th October 2007 13:26

160 should be easily targetable with 708's and a decent engine rebuild mate :)

willsy 17th October 2007 23:04

Sounds good to me mate :) really looking forward to getting this in the car now. Had a little look at some forgies today :) may have ordered some as early as tomorrow
