Yeah it was mad prep, the masking for the cage spraying has been near enough as bad lol!

Sweeeeet mate cant wait to see the results :)

mark1311 26th April 2011 21:30

looks good mate. using base and clear or 2k on the cage?

jpsaxo 27th April 2011 09:03

Cool Colin, hopefully see you on sat :D

Mark - nah gonna carefully rattle can the cage, see how it comes out, mainly because of all the tight angles etc it's basically impossible to do with the spray gun, well the equipment we have anyway :)

LEE_VTR1 27th April 2011 10:18

looking good mate!!

defo be ready for the weekend yea??

mark1311 27th April 2011 12:12

cages are a pain in arse to spray tbh, if its a weld in i tend to jus do it all the same colour or, do cage 1st then rub down the over spray mask the cage up then spray rest, should look sweet anyways mate

jpsaxo 27th April 2011 13:39

Sprayed the cage this morn as it's nice and sunny, looks awesome!!!!

Lea - hopefully mate, if weathers good tomorrow and Friday then I'll easily get it done :)

So plan now:-

Remove all masking tonight
Fit loom & carpet tomorrow morning
Start cutting up the new dash to fit around the cage & fit that tomorrow
Fit all little bits and bobs, harnesses, seats etc on Friday

jpsaxo 27th April 2011 19:42

Thanks buddy, means ALOT coming from you :)

Will be awesome taking down much "bigger" cars on some track days, my next one is at Donnington 23rd may with lea, Matt & Olly. After that I'll prob do the 3 hour open pit @ fcs & then ring. After that I'm not sure what I'll be doing but I'll let you know if and when I decide to do another day mate :)

hard_corejoeboy 3rd May 2011 18:42

Just make sure the 8v stock hatch saxo's don't overtake you!
That WOULD be embarrassing!

twist 3rd May 2011 18:52

dude i love your car, its just perfect lol

hard_corejoeboy 3rd May 2011 20:48

Reason i say that is i was embarrassed for most of the day at Brands Hatch till the last hour or so once i'd got the hang of it! Actually they were still faster than me then! I'll blame it on the fact they have a roll cage :D

Them corsa vxr's are a load of wank tbh. The clio's are brilliant though but either the drivers don't want to crash them or they can't drive them as everyone i've come across has suffered :D

How is your spare wheel held in btw?

Yeah the clio 200's are good, I prefer the look of the 197's though tbh!

It's a 3 point trs spare wheel harness mate :)

hard_corejoeboy 3rd May 2011 21:35

I know what you mean. The front end on the 200 isn't as nice but the gloss diffusers look better than the 197's matte one's.

I will own an RS clio of some variety one day. Test drove a 200 and loved it!

Where does the strap attach to?

rorz_vts 3rd May 2011 21:50

car looked the bussiness at the meet mate cant get over the roof man love it and like danny said it sounded mean as when you came in, have you got a btb system on it? and cheers for showing me how the kms unit worked mate gives me a better idea of where it should be at when i put the engine back in :y:

It attaches to two harness type buckets and I've clipped that into 2 eye bolts, pm me and I'll take a picture for you mate :)

Yeah it's a BTB full system including BTB 4-1 manifold! Basically the kms (if mapped correctly) should have a target value of 14.7 for the wideband, therefore when your driving along and keep it on the same load you will see the wideband adjusting the fueling towards that 14.7 target, then after you've driven it a few hundred miles connect the kms up to the laptop, download the wideband "corrections" onto the map and so on and so on. In theory it should keep the map as close to the ideal fueling as possible.
