I am sure a few people on here have done it. Some saxos were made with the darker roof. Not sure which ones but seen a few on here that I am sure they just took from other saxos. Worth researching perhaps, would make a big difference in my opinion

Beenie 22nd February 2010 19:44

i heard about someone dying the head lining to get it black, i also heard about spray painting but no, not a good look.

Some stuff i get from a valeting friend. Comes in a massive tub and last's me and my dad years. The last tub lasted over 5 years! Just put it on with a paintbrush. It's good stuff too.

A taster of what's coming this weekend... (hopefully will get chance to fit my carbon doorcard's too)

Barton1806 6th March 2010 14:41

Car looks mint as always, Where you get the showcage from want to out a black one in my stealth machine? How much weight would you say you have lost with the interior strip? Got any more plans now for it?

Check my progress :P

Tom

Thanks pal. The showcage was off eBay.

Well, i weighed the car at 900kg with half a tank in, this was before i lost the splitter and fogs. The listed weight on Parkers is 920kg but i don't know if that is wet or dry?

Cheers pal...

Updates to come once i've uploaded photo's.

CHIP 6th March 2010 22:52

Right, the update. Sorry for the pic quality... all off my phone. Also the car's rather dirty :(

I've made a start on making all the silicone hoses match. The breather's pipe's were my first call. I didnt want to run silicone all the way to the carbon filter though as it's more liable to rubbing through so at work i made this little beauty.

A pushfit fitting, which originally the collar's were green, swapped them for blue and used a stem reducer to take it to 6mm hose. Works quite well :y:

And the end result:

Also had a bash at fitting my carbon doorcards. Seems like Bic isn't very good at cutting accuratley though so for the handle's abit of modification is needed. Going to crack on with them in the morning :y:

VTRacer 7th March 2010 08:51

looking good chip.
where did u get the blue piping from as was looking at some for mine but in red lol :y:

Really then the biggest weight saving is when people aint allowed in the back. also need buckets and to sort out the rear as I don't like the exposed metal when they're stripped. Will upload pics when I have finished it should look ace.

Dude, put your signature in your signature lol :y:

But anyway, bare in mind when i'm sat in the car, it weighs 940kg. So in other words i've lost the weight of half of me. You always notice when someone's sat in the car aswell acceleration wise so i guess it isn't that bad a saving.

Barton1806 7th March 2010 10:33

It doesn't seem to work if I put it in my signiture :n:

Yea I notice a massive difference when I am alone in the car, passengers and petrol are what weighs most. Stripping my rear and going to kit out with 3mm hardboard covered in speaker carpet, want a black showcage to go in aswell. Should look good you think?

Tom

VTRacer 7th March 2010 13:59

excellent cheers matey :y:

CHIP 8th March 2010 00:00

Fitted my carbon doorcard's today. Not without a problem though.

A) Bic cut the hole's incorrectly for the handle's, so i've had to relocate them slightly
B) This seems to have created a fault with the central locking... I need to look closer!

But here they are :)

Also went for a mini photoshoot with Toyah now her Sax is on the road :y:

VTRacer 8th March 2010 07:34

wow both look amazing mate :y:

Sean_VTS 8th March 2010 07:47

Looks good buddy! Did you get the doorcards new? Its unlike Bic to make a mistake....

CHIP 8th March 2010 07:58

Second hand but never fitted dude. I'm unsure of Bic as Toyah's mirror caps took nearly a month to come and so did my mate's stereo blank :(

Sean_VTS 8th March 2010 08:09

its because Bic doesnt hold stock of the items they sell. An order comes through and the make that order from scratch. My trackday kit took over a month but ive had other stuff that was avaliable in stock on next day delivery.

CHIP 8th March 2010 11:27

I can respect that dude but for example... I would e.mail him monday after a week or so of waiting and he'd say lacquering them today, send them tomorrow and you will have them wednesday. I'll e.mail him again Friday night and he will say they're lacquered, sending them monday lol. The quality of the caps and blank is good just his time keeping let's him down abit imo :)

Bicston 8th March 2010 20:44

apologies if they needed fettling, but sometimes parts do, as not everything can be trial fitted to a vehicle, very unusual with something like this as they are scribed out to a template and then trimmed. I/we work very hard to give great customer service above anything, apologies if delays are sometimes incurred, but please bare in mine i am building Streamline Carbon as a business alongside and above my standard working days of my other businesses, sometimes i wish the 8th days would invent itself, 7 just isnt enough and I do my best to keep people informed, but am sometimes too busy actually completing orders as oppose to sending update emails all the time. I hope the delays you have received havent shuuned any future orders you may make with us, I will be sure to offer you something in addition to your next order to compensate.

thanks

Bic

ps, car looks great, and doorcards look pretty bling too lol

Thanks for taking the time to reply Bic. I can understand you're a busy person, running a business is never easy.

You're e.mails back were actually pretty damn quick. Never known a business to be replying to my e.mail's at 9pm almost in a conversation-like way lol.

The doorcard's are good quality and tbf they were only 5mm or so out, but was just enough to mean i had to move the handle's forwards and upwards slightly.

Again, thanks for taking the time to reply and thanks for the compliment :y:

Bicston 9th March 2010 00:07

no problem, thanks

SaxoIOW 9th March 2010 00:14

The doorcards and engine bay look awsome :y: Seeing the doorcards makes me want some even more! Im torn between stripping my vtr (looking into doing some trackdays) or keeping all the leathers:wacko:

You know that your car doesnt have to be stripped out to do track days right?

Very true. Same as you don't have to do trackdays to strip your car out. I'm unsure if i will see any track action yet, just making my car how i want it (more fun for me to drive).

Cheers for the compliment's though folks.

SaxoIOW 9th March 2010 13:32

Yea i realise that :p Its just i really like the look of it awsell and i too think it gives a better driving experience.

Chris-VTR 9th March 2010 13:35

Looking good mate :) I remember a while back I contacted when you had it up for sale and look at it now! Glad you kept it? :y:

CHIP 14th March 2010 12:43

Yea, i am glad i kept it dude, thanks :)

M14VTR is now on my car :y:

Liam-westcoast 14th March 2010 13:08

the plate looks really good on your car mate, also the car is looking very clean

CHIP 14th March 2010 13:43

Cheers dude. I fitted a new Map sensor yesterday hoping it would cure it's flat spot (didn't though) and new heater knob. Then gave it a quick wash.

Then went to Toyah's swapped plates over (will get pic's of her's soon), fitted her a rear heated screen switch and gave it a quick wash.

Tried to fit her stereo too but the amp is dead i think and none of the speaker's were working. So just going to get rid of the amp i think.

J222JRA 14th March 2010 15:25

Type Craig's Plates into Google pal. I didn't actually buy these plates, they came off Toyah's. But she's got the same style plate's but with her personal reg and that's where i got them from for her.
