Nice motor but you need to get some smoked tail lights... those smoked ones look shite lol!

olly_vts 20th April 2008 21:13

cheers. yer i know lol, my mate sprayed them gloss black, before we realised they were illegal! so i had to sand them down, creating the matt finish, and had to scrape off the paint where the main lights were. Im guna just use some white spirit n take the whole lot off - back to original n start again.

olly_vts 23rd April 2008 12:45

Got rid of the crappy rear lights, back to the originals now

Adam_Q 23rd April 2008 15:42

olly_vts 29th April 2008 12:50

Next stage plans
1. Lowered 50mm
2. Alloys
3. Tints or Manifold

dannyhall 29th April 2008 13:06

How cum you didn't get a bodyshop to colour code it?

I find when spraying by hand the finish isn't shiny, it looks dull, is that the case with yours?

Not a bad effort though, from what i can tell! LOL

olly_vts 29th April 2008 15:27

It looks ok. Just wanted to get rid of the grey. If i could afford it, would have probably taken it to a bodyshop.

saxokid100 29th April 2008 22:32

I know the feeling! £500 a month means i always have to do stuff myself!

Credit to ya for having the balls do it!

olly_vts 30th April 2008 18:56

Exactly. Its a pretty good job to be fair, and i think it makes the car look a hell of alot different.

olly_vts 4th May 2008 15:34

Car is on bricks atm

1. wheels are going black
2. calipers yellow
3. Sidetrim being coloured coded to match the bumpers

olly_vts 4th May 2008 21:10

Update 5 - Wheels go Black, Calipers Yellow

Jacked the car up today, to start spraying. Put the car on bricks to spray the wheels

cleaned up the wheel

Let down the tyre and masked it up

Sanded the whole wheel with 240 wet and dry then 1200, till it was completely smooth and matt.

I then applied 4 coats of primer allowing 15 minutes between coats to dry

I am now letting the primer harden and will spray gloss black tomorrow.

HayleyVts 4th May 2008 22:41

good idea with the wheels i might try that is it hard work?
nice car aswell keep the pics coming!

olly_vts 5th May 2008 11:07

yer, its loads of hard work lol, takes about 2 hours to sand down each wheel. shud be worth it tho.
