do you have 2 filters? :S or just the carbon box from an enclosed one?

Thats exactly as the complete kit came when i bought it new......

Ok......so ive got the car back and the paintjob is awesome, and just the right balance in 'satin' between gloss and matt. But is does have some "crash repair damage" look to it..........

SEVERELY need some black headlights, and other subtle black touches.

lovin the colour of the bonnet :)

CHIP 2nd October 2009 18:12

Grill and front badge need doing now. Personally though i'd have kept the car all silver. But it's a very interesting car. Nos isnt a common thing on Saxo's. Liking the individuality :)

This morning is oil,oil filter, fuel filter and plug change (Plugs are BCR8ES: same as an Escort RS Turbo for any other NOS guys-n-gals BTW).

To get the left wheel up,and the car in the air a little,so i could get to the sump nut i thought id drive up the front steps area of our house a little. After doing it and turning round both me and the cat were surprised to see a 3 wheeled Spaxo:

That must be like 5 years ago at least i reckon ? But yup....stil got it....and still enjoy driving it ;)

HOOOOOOGE update today BTW: New Power steering resevoir cap ordered :clapping: Not sure if you could buy just the seal (Does every Saxo ever made have a cap that leaks ?) so i got the new cap with seal off ebay for £4.95.

This looks absolutely sick!

miamibluebaby 8th October 2009 10:12

looks well mate, smoked head lights and fogs, and some smoked rear jewels would go well :)

twoga 10th October 2009 19:09

Tappy 17th October 2009 02:52

i really like the bonnet!

sevenfourate 22nd October 2009 18:09

Cheers for the above comments guys :clapping:.Thanks

I bought my Paxo on 14'000 miles i believe, and i may have had a head-gasket done straight away,im not sure. But certainly hasnt had one on it since (50'000 miles) ! So i got to thinking i really ought to get a cambelt kit fitted. And stick a new waterpump on while i was there,as im certainly going to have this as my run-around for the near future.

As its starting to sound a tiny bit 'top endey' i thought id go the whole hog and stick a new cam and followers in while im there. And if im going that far im going to need a new headgasket. So i might aswell get a full gasket kit and do valve stem oil seals etc at the same time.

And to be honest the rocker cover ive got is a bit scabby,so ive got myself another and had a pukka powder-coat job done on it with a hot zinc base-layer so theres no chance of any bubbling.

My engine builder guy says he might aswell lap the valves back in again while its apart. And he's then going to set it up and re-map it,via live-mapping on the road. The car is booked in for all this Tuesday and Wednesday....we'll see.Should be fresh as a daisy i hope (fingers crossed) :y:
