mate i can do it for you but it will probally take a few hours. i will probally find it easyer @ work to do but obviously you wont be paying there prices youll be paying mine:) muchous cheapous.
citroen would charge you £71+vat per hour and book time is 4 hours 2 hours per side plus what ever the body shop charges £30 or £40 almost £400 quid i do them for £90 that includs all the work and welding as i dont do welding so have to take them to the bodyshop to be done so as you can see muchous cheaper let me know email me as i dont get on here much any more stevenheselwood@hotmail.com |

My clunk noise comes from the front driverside and is apprant when stationary and moving the steering wheel anti clockwise, it happens at slow speeds also, does this fit the criteria of loose suspension spring cup?
My car is a MK2 VTR 00' X 65k (90bhp engine). ManC |
Had another look today and im pretty sure that its not a loose spring cup as it didnt move with a lever bar. The paint that has worn away is the same on both sides an i think its just from the rubber shiled. It sound like it is coming from near the top of the strut. Could it be the top spring cup or is it more likely to be the top mount? Really annoying me now.

i would put money on it being the strut top bearing that aint that much to buy

yea could be top mounts what happens is the bearings dry out and become noisey but its no really a clonck more a grinding on turning or when going over bumps you can get a slight clonck

The problem talked about in this thread is different. This is when people are on full lock or turning. Yours is when the suspension goes up and down and i would say it would be the droplinks. Only cheap to change even if it dont fix it :)

so it clunks when only on full lock OR does it clunk when you move the wheel?

But as with SAM33R, it does sometimes make a clunk when pulling away from stand still and this sounds very similar to the knocking noise when the droplinks fail ( I've had 4 replaced since ive had the car ) but in this case I dont think its the drop links that are the problem. Really hope its something simple and not that welding issue :( |
