i got pulled over last week while getting my escort, was lasered on the A1 doing 99mph, copper came shooting after me, i said sorry and the police man said cuz i wasnt being an arse he will give me £60 fine and 3 points, i got off lightly for what i did.

It depends what the offences were mate I would of thought.

Not really a ban as such. Just they take your licence off you and you are back to square one i.e. like when you was 16.
You just have to apply for a provisional again, take both tests and you get your licence back.
Not a very nice time though, I've been through all this, took about 3 months to get back on the road, longest 3 months of my life haha.

The speed limits are different for each constabulary. For instance, in Thames Valley they are 10%+3 miles per hour, in Northamptonshire, I am pretty sure its 10%+1, in Wales, they are a flat 10%. Hear of the story of the chief man from Yorkshire police that went to Wales and got stopped for speeding? I went on a speeding course, which tought me not to speed by the way, run by the police at Thames Valley. They told me all this there. The trainers are all advanced motorists. The original thread is ok for England, 10%+1 is safe, but for Welsh people, watch out!!

a1 varies mate.. some places its down to 50 (well down near where i live anyway) only 3 points & £60 is lucky mate!
