Cheers mate :A: Yep resprayed the headlights inserts and resparyed the grill myself too was really worth it, however close up the grill is white in places where I had masking tape :panic:

I wish mate! My insurance will be void if I put it on now, CIS aren't allowing any modifications after several phone calls begging to allow me to purchase some new wheels they turned me down :n:

It's killing me looking at parts that I can't fit to my car, I knew I should of gone with Quinn direct but CIS were a better price and I just wanted to get on the road.

On another note suki is a huge inspiration for my sax, I can go two ways-white wheels and colour code, or black wheels and smoke theme...

And he's not half wrong, over the next few years the cosmetic mods are on, and breathing mods for the 1.1-gaining barely any power.

And when my insurance bumps down a vtr engine may be the way forward-whilst keeping the slammed 1.1 look :A:

I was in the same boat as you... couldn't wait for my renewal, i was gonna mod my old vtr, but Suki became available at the time of my renewal so bought her instead lol!

I recon you should save your pennies and get a vtr/s and mod that... would probably last longer for ya, your only get bored of having no power ;)

Just took your advice and had a look at a few quotes for a VTR next year with quinn direct and Bell.

MK1 VTR: £1660, which worked out £147 a month or something :wacko:

Same price for both cars? Tad strange considerring the difference in engine size. Fair enough it's "only" a 15bhp increase but I'm considerring a new purchase :cool:

Everything in the sax atm can be returned to standard easily, even removing the 106 gti leather interior... oops did i let something slip there ;)

Its a big decision matey for me, selling up is the only problem for me. This sax has caused no problems for me (that I haven't been able to fix) in 8 months of ownership, and it passed it's last MOT aswell.

I may be keeping the 1.1 for another 3 years depends how insurance goes. Tbh I would love to turn the red sax into a nice sleeper in a few years (not a major one). I'll just have to see how it spans out, was a quick thought really-was tired and probably delusional, love this car too much tbh :y:

love my 1.1 to bits too mate gets me down to cornwall every other week so im happy as it costs me less in petrol if i was to have a bigger engine.

need to pull my finger out and do more work on my sax, got loads of ideas but little funds at the moment so its gonna be cheap or free mods :P

My engine bay's needed a work over the last couple of... months, It looked like it had never been cleaned in all it's driving life. Sad really as my old 1.1 came with a steam cleaned bay, this one has always been disgusting so I tackled it in my NOOB form and got scrubbing:

A bit of wear here and there but they're just spot on, gave them some TLC once I bought them and got them to quite a nice standard... never thought I'd be shaving a seat though tbh.

On another note another bloke arrived with a flatbed lorry to tow away my old car on my front!

Bah this year I will be going to my first proper car shows. Which in a way is annoying as I'm running on steelies with silly (damaged from car accident last year) hubcaps. I'm a bit tempted to get some standard peugeot alloys (13inch, with the same tyre size as I'm running now) or to paint my steelies :fcuk: which can look, imo on a 1.1 tacky and sometimes chavvy. I have wheels I can experiment on before FCS but god knows what I should do.

I'll get some ideas up and post them up.

Whilst I'm here, a small update:



New wipers. My best mate thinks they look weird but at least I can see when driving now in the rain :y:

tbh mate there's nothing obscenely wrong with the plastics I have on now, I just want to experiment for a bit, I do have my old cars wheels (10 steelies in all) all with tons of tread (wheelspinning is for noobs).

I do like the lip look, so May take it into consideration when it comes to spraying :y:

Not really an update as such, but as it was such a good day and I had an hour to kill I felt I'd go for a random trip to one of my favourite roads in Northants to get some shots and chill out for a bit:

Now as I have been driving all over the place the last week (manchester, Birmingham, leicester, Silverstone) I've noticed a squeak noise from the front of the car... it may be the suspension? If so I'm praying that when I change everything when it comes to lowerring (not just opting for springs) the noise will disapear.

Also my horrible exhaust can be beautifully heard here :y:

As to the above I'm after some white comp mo's, but dependant on my money situation I may do a 4 stud hub conversion :A:

Insurance is set to be renewed in september right after my MOT (expensive month for me) But this means I can finally get my wheels.

And sort out my exhaust system... I'm after Snewham's old setup so something a bit like:

Supersprint 4-2-1 manifold
Supersprint *race* centre section
Sportex 4" inwardly rolled backbox
Raceland enclosed induction kit with green filter.

As I liked the sound and he had gains of around 15bhp :y: However the centre section I may have to look for a more legal un-decatted section :n:

Anyway the wheels I've been looking at are white comp mo's but are rather expensive but look gorgeous...

Either that or the following wheels:

I'm undecided on black or white wheels atm, as I am atm going for a smoked theme but I loved Suki and was aiming for suki's look... tough decision and comp mo's would go with this. But the wheels I have in these pics are going cheaply atm.

i was going to get the first set there, raceline RLS or soemthing like that? where are these wheels going cheeply?!
