LGV or not, its a 4.2 ltr turbo intercooled engine, easily hit 100+ no probs, its the fact our machine weights 14 tonne with 1800 ltrs of water, not the easiest to drive at over 70

Yeah we can, specially if someone could potentially be dying and people will try and race us

It can only get there quicker if stupid twats would move when they can see and hear blue lights. also if there is an ambulance in the area

Junction27 3rd October 2009 23:44

lol, have i just been called a twat by tonto vtr? if so, i dont see why, i didnt affect it in any way what so ever, no change of direction or speed was needed on his part.

fair play, and if anything goes wrong with a police car doing 100 mph thats only 1.5 tonnes of out of control metal.
spose if something went wrong with an "appliance" (as firefighters call them ;)) that would be 14 tonnes of metal and water out of control :S ...nasty.

Are you aware you can get pulled and done for such behaviour as your potentially slowing down an emergency response vehicle

link or its bull shit.

I've been in the back of our appliance with our driver flying round a roundabout on almost 2 wheels.

Coppers waved.

Junction27 3rd October 2009 23:50

Lol, firstly whats the point of calling people names on the net, I live at 145 City Road Sheffield, come and say it to my face.

Bigval, I was not aware. However im sure you understand every situation is different, this was a big long steep uphill stretch of road, I used the overtaking lane and there was notother traffic on the road.

yeah mate, i think you find you have.

didnt effect it, right well i hope when you crash your fucking car, and the ambulance is just recieving its call, to come save your ass, some lil cunt like yourself speeds past it, spins out, crashes in teh ambluance, and as they cant get to you, you die.

unlucky!

think of the consequences if... IF something was to happen!

What's different about blue lights and a siren?

Each time you see an ambulance or fire engine, you know there is a high chance that someones life is in danger.

Overtaking lane or not. The blue lights have priority over every single person on the road.

to be fair to you i kinda see where your coming from...

for example if theres a fire engine going down the middle lane of a motorway at 60mph, the rest of the traffic on the motorway wont slow down and sit behind it. the rest of the cars in the "fast lane" will carry on going past the fire engine at 70 odd.

I've only ever been on a motorway 2 times under blue lights, very rare to see that tbh

yeahh it is, mainly to crashes on the motorway etc. i wouldnt overtake a fire engine or anything on a road though. maybe on a dual carriage way i see why people would overtake if the limits 70 and fire engine doing 60.
but if im in that situation i just slow down so that im slower than the emergency vehicle as it feels weird over taking a fire engine or ambulance with its lights on.

Chr15 4th October 2009 00:12

I know it doesnt. I remember reading it and thinking wtf? it must have been less than 6 months ago

not many motorways around me, just main A roads. Dont really see alot of RTC's there, mainly rural roads see RTC's.

I personally dont mind people over taking us, its just when they think they're the dogs bollocks by doing it

Was going down a thin road earlier with no space to pull over with an ambulance behind me with lights and siren, had to hit 40 til I could pull over about 30 seconds later - Was not fun :P
