the old fan came out a doddle without taking the bumper off. a few minor adjustment had to be made to the housing for the twin fan as the connector for the wires to the motor didn't quite fit. so a small bit had to be cut off the housing to make it fit snug. also a good clean around the area of the radiator is needed.

collo 17th October 2009 20:20

last week i received my aero wipers and strut brace. also stripped the back out :)

collo 18th October 2009 16:46

not as simple as i thought twin fanning :( just as i went to spray the fans after spraying the housing i realise that the vtr fans are built the opposite way round to the vts fans. so instead of blowing the air onto the rad an the engine bay it will be blowing towards the front bumper. so 2 vts or gti fans are needed despirately.

collo 18th October 2009 20:30

thinking spraying the show cage either red or black tomoz seen as theres no point in doing the fans now till i can get hold of 2 vts ones

collo 19th October 2009 22:33

anyone got a vts fan for sale? realised that the vtr ones are buil the opposite way round

collo 23rd October 2009 13:48

just got round to uploading the pics of the twin fan housing being sprayed. still waiting to get vts or gti fans to put in it.

collo 25th October 2009 20:08

Just found the pictures on my phone of when i sprayed the centre console. Getting it masked up was a bit fiddley but worth it in the end :) finished product was sprayed in wicked red to match the colour of the car. i sanded the whole unit down appart from the bits that i wasn't going to spray with 800 grain if i remember rightly, then i primed it and it then took 2 coats of colour and then finally lacquered ..........

collo 25th October 2009 22:24

gti sounds beautiful

collo 3rd October 2010 22:33

thanks for the comment! hopefully in the near future i can get a bit more work done to the gti :)

collo 9th December 2010 20:05

big update with the pics. couple of months ago was on the way to work when the engine went bang and the piston rings had shattered not done any other damage though as i wasn't going very fast. decided rater than strip the engine down i'd drop another one in then rebuild the knackerd one when its out. also popped in a brand new rad. because costing so much its slowed everything down that i was going to do with the car. bit of a pic at the end to show what i want the car to look like. anyway a few pictures for you guys .......
