Yea its my dads ive taken it over ! the guy who had the house before him grass tracked minis hence the stickers every where and its got a pit !

UPDATE
done a few things to pass sometime before i pop the engine out ! just waiting on a engine hoist.

got some pics - painted my rocker covers, 16v is starting to look good :p



need some stainless bolts and it should be there :A:

Also started to get rid of some arch rust and crap and painted them up !



looks good and keeps the rust off as i dont own any arch liners lol will be doing the same underneath and all the way to the back but that can wait for now. need a new clutch and a full set of drilled and grooved discs and pads as mine are fooooked lol

Well today i thought sod it ill drop the old 8v out on the floor instead of waiting for a crane. came out quite easily ! Running out of room in the garage, hence the bumpers on the roof !!

Then i took all the sound proofing out and de-gunged and de-rusted ! it was filthy down there !






Then a quick coat of paint nothing fancy just hammerite to seal it from rust . will need another coat maybe 2






Carnt wait now to get the 16v dropped in! sending off fly wheel to get lightened and balanced and buying a new clutch! a set of polly bushes for the front as well i think. comment please

rite ! My old discs (front) are being an arse ! The screws that hold them on are rusted and rounded ! Ive drilled one out but just takes so long ! Anyone have any tips for a quicker way would be a big help tar !

Small updates, drilled my discs off as they were stuck and gave my struts a de rust and paint! also didnt like the red on my block ( it looked pink :n: ) so gave it a new coat witch look slightly orangey but i like it !!








Also started to clean up my gearbox need more work but undecided to paint it or not ? what you think ?

Thanks for all the positive comments, really appreciate it ! Ive done all the work myself on nights after work and put alot of effort in so far! just need to carry on and get it finished ! will finish re-furbing my gearbox tomorrow so will have some pics up soon :y:

After manny hours armed with my array of sanding tools my Gearbox is all clean , looking new and finished ! What you think ?

It mite sound crazy but i wont be keeping this gti box for long! as i will eventually put a xsi box in. But this one is the guinea pig for my secret finish :y:







Also my little radio in my garage died :n:
so quickly as a flash i rigged up some temporary tune-age lol

anyone know a good place to get my flywheel lightened and balenced ? Also mite not get a new clutch to keep cost down as i have one thats done 20,000 miles in the gti box and 60,000 in the vtr box ! Hmmm ??

That has come out really nice there bud!! Wish i had the time to get my S1 box cleaned up!

In response to your previous comments, Atspeed are selling lightened and balanced flywheels and Saxo_schott is selling a 1.4XSI gearbox for £150!! Bargain price!

Cheers for the info will look into Atspeed ( im guessing there to buy new instead of sending mine off ) and as for the gear box i really would snapp his hand off but im on a tight budget at the moment and need to focus my cash on getting it on the road and working lol so my box will do for now!

Quick question if anyone is actualy reading this ? Apart from whsmiths is there any other big chains that stock french car mag ? I say this because i travel all over yorkshire for my job and got into manny news agents just to be dissapointed : ( ! And its usually out of my way to go to whsmiths and when i do go its not there ! Carnt win lol

been de rusting the rest of my arches and under the back and painted it up, looks good :y:
will get full set of discs ordered on payday wap them on ,rebuild my suspension and put my wheels back on so ive got a rolling shell so i can get it out the garage and have a big sort out in there! its getting full lol !!

also forgot to mention i mite as well sell my vtr 8v engine as i have no use for it anymore ! its done about 60,000 and been a good runner ! anyone interested let me know
