Mate, you've done a stirling job of your car.

I've been looking at tidying my engine up, can I ask, how did you get it looking so new? What did you use and did you have to take it apart?

mickymoe 11th May 2010 22:58

thanks for everyones comments :y:

well its a young engine so wasnt too bad to start with, just used engine degreasent on any part possible then got a damp cloth and scrubed away at everything. any rusted metal got a sanding down and then i top off all the plastics with meguires tyre shine :y:
wouldnt recomend any hoses either

Quality man, cheers! If I can get as good a finish on the paintwork and engine as you have, i'll be well chuffed. I've currently got a 2001 model that looks pretty tired in all honestly and I really aint got a clue where to start. I'm basically just wanting to do what you have and just make slight changes here and there without going over the top.

Think I might put some pics up of it and try and get somw tips and advice on how to sort it out. Nows a better time than ever with summer coming etc.

mickymoe 12th May 2010 11:26

no problem mate, cheers :y:
yeah just subtle and practical changes are all ya need :) ano summer is near and i have many plans for this wee car haha

Haha appreciate it :) jealous you have a black one. they come up better after a wash lol yeah got loads for over the summer which starts tomorrow for me :) last uni exam :) exhaust system is high on list and respraying front bumper and wide mouthing it. smoked headlights and fogs and spray wheels graphite. also just other wee things like a good service and tidying up bits and bobs, Wbu? much planned for yours?

mickymoe 20th May 2010 01:00

small update, smoked my headlights :) makes a big difference :)

L20VTS 20th May 2010 01:04

Looks good, love that colour :)

The smoked lights really make a difference !

mickymoe 20th May 2010 01:12

cheers lad! ano just to do the fogs now and thats all the smoked clusters :)

Left to do:
exhaust system
4-2-1 manifold
widemouth/repspray front bumper
smoke fogs
ecu cover
waxoyl under car
spray wheels graphite

hope to have it all done asap!

jeffchiz 20th May 2010 03:10

thanks for the nice comment :D makes it worth while lol

maybe a new set of plates? only say that as the pic of the front with the smoked headlights (which look very good) there is a bit of rust working its way down the plate lol maybe a set of pressed plates if your in to them? if not jsut a set of clean new plates :D

what are you doing with the front bumper? just a straight re-spray or are you doing any smoothing?

mickymoe 20th May 2010 10:16
