Hey guys small update, went to collect a new supersprint backbox on sat night off fish6634 (great chap) , I couldn't wait to see what it sounded like so I pulled over at a services, put the car up on a curb, and changed it there and then :) sounds amazing, not a loud as my old piper, but that will change when I get a new manifold, here is a pic I've just taken of it on the car, looks nice and I no longer get the drone noise on the motorway wich is goood

What do you think? All coment welcome :)

dan-sport 7th September 2011 17:00

Stuart85VTR 7th September 2011 17:26

I love the colour scheme, one of the fans poking out in one pic :)

gojka 8th September 2011 15:37

Haha its only a single fan at the moment however I went to a local scrappy today and picked up a new set of vts interior, to replace mine as they have a few ciggy burns from the mrs :( but all sorted now, also got hold of a second fan and motor to go on, I just need to find a way to wire it into the original fan setup :)

saxo_gray 8th September 2011 16:36

good work, brave choice of colour but works! cracking little car, keep it up :)

UPDATE....

Hey guys and girls, the last couple of months have been eventfull, to start with I devolped a missfire around september time, so I gave the car a service ( oil, oil filter, sparks and fuel filter) to try and stop the missfire, although it did help there was still a slight missfire, shortly after my drivers side engine mount gave way, so I went for a look through a local scrappy and came accross a black MK2 3 plug vts with 64k on, so I took the engine mount and also the coilpack, fitted these and everything was then fine and the missfire had gone :) happy days, untill about a week or 2 later, I was just popping out with a couple of friends when all of a sudden the engine became really loud and was banging and knocking, turned the car off as soon possible and then got on the phone to dan_sport on here, who came to tow me home, a few days later I got the car recovered and taken to my work where we then found the loud bangs and knocks were from the timing belt as it had slipped 2 teeth, not good, anyway we re-timed the car and it fired, and ran very lumpy, so took it for a spin and it started to improve more and more, so I was lucky that I had a 'useable' car for now, a few days later I went back to the local scrappy and purchased the engine and gearbox from the black VTS (reason being we thought a few valves were bent) anyway the next thing to happen is that my windscreen cracked, so back to the scrapyard for a windscreen, about a week later I got a new headgasket kit and timing belt and changed the head ever since ithe car has beeen 100% fine, now back to the mods, had my vts wheels resprayed again in yellow along with my rocker covers, put these on and niticed the front pads were low so new pads have just been fitted, shortly after 1 rear pad fell out as the securing clip had gone, so new securing clips and new set or rear pads, another problem sorted. The next step was to start modding again, first on the list was a manifold which I got off another saxp member, its a piper 4-1 manifold and also came with heatwrap :) I've put some new tinted headlight glass on, new set of wind deflectors and HIDs, a shortshift and the blue led dials aswell, SORRY for the essay lol, ill put pictures up shortly

couttsyboy 5th January 2012 17:09

im glad you stuck through it :) would of been a shame if you scrapped it

gojka 5th January 2012 20:38

Would neva scrap this car I've wanted 1 for a while, so now I have it I'm gonna keep it as mint as I can

Meto 5th January 2012 22:01

Would never have guessed it had such a eventful past, especially when it went flying past me on the M54 on Sunday night! :P

If its the one I'm thinking of, had a private plate on very similar to yours?

gojka 5th January 2012 22:24

m4tt-j 5th January 2012 22:50

gojka 4th January 2013 15:18

For now yes the wheels will stay silver thinking of getting them powdercoated yellow at some point, maybe thinking of a new colour but I'm not to sure yet

gojka 15th January 2013 14:51

Right guys the last weekend has been rather busy for me, got hold of some 266mm callipers pads and disks, which are now fitted and feel great, had a few replacement parts, and a few little upgrades posted aswell ;) power flew rear beam mounts, powerflex wishbone bushes and some powerflex Arb bar mounts, new lower arms and track rods, new driveshaft seals and gearbox oil along with some new spark plugs and 4 new maxxis maz1 tyres all have now been fitted apart from the arb mounts, also took a trip to IMaxles to see Ian and Martin and had a nice fully recon axle lowered 60 so it's now slightly hight on the rear :) pictures below....

dan-sport 15th January 2013 20:54

Glad your enjoying our brakes

harry289 15th January 2013 21:12

Nice to see a Saxo being well looked after. Just needs a detail now with fresh clean arches! :)

gojka 16th January 2013 12:55

Indeed it does need a clean, ill be doing that in the next few days the brakes are great haha, after a detail ill post some pictures with the new ride hight :)

gojka 16th January 2013 22:08

Just thought I'd upload a quick picture after a wash, looks a lot nicer now with the new hight on the back end :)

gojka 13th August 2013 09:07

Right guys its been a while, since the last update I've had a few more modifications to add to the list thanks to a couple of local people braking their cars, so to begin with I have replaced the gmax rear and front standard dampers and the car is now sitting on bilstein group N dampers all round as I wanted to improve the handling before I start any more power modifications, after fitting these the car felt completely different to drive and was so planted to the road, the next few parts to go on were an oil catch tank with breather and a procomp induction kit with the green cotton air filter to replace my raceland filter, I had also got hold of some uprated gear linkages with out the clips (which was very annoying as the bottom linkage would always pop off and I'd loose gears 1st, 2nd, 5th and reverse) I tryed to get a new set of clips but had no luck, FCS was one week away, with a 1 pm track slot, and along with the linkage problem and badly worn down tyres I decided to have 4 new maxxis maz1 tyres put on the car, with the fresh rubber, I also sprayed both of my fans in moonstone blue as halfords didn't have the Icelandic paint, it's the same colour anyway haha, all was going great apart from the linkage problem. On the morning of FCS when we arrived at castle comb I went straight to the trades stands and managed to get a brand new set of baker uprated linkages, these got fitted on the stand at FCS haha. Before going on track my friend dansport had told me once I go on track I would get the bug, and he was right I had such a good time I've now decided to work on the car to get it to a street legal track car, then last week a new problem came out of nowhere and the clutch started to slip quite badly, so the next step was a nice new LUK clutch from a local car parts place, at this time I was also in talks with another friend of mine about selling his gearbox which he had on his track saxo, so with that in mind I waited a few days to collect the funds and on Sunday I went to collect the gearbox, it's a vts casing with vts ratios in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th with a 106 xsi final drive but the most important thing about it was the ABT quaife limited slip diff, once I got the box I got straight to work and had the new box and clutch in, it took just over 4 hours due to a few stubborn bolts but I have to say with out a doubt the quaife diff is the best thing I have done so far the car now handles completely different :) ill post some pictures I have taken since the last update in the next post

gojka 13th August 2013 09:19

jpsaxo 13th August 2013 10:17

Looks tidy mate... im with you on the quaife, they are bloody awesome bits of kit :D

gojka 13th August 2013 10:27

I was surprised how much of a difference the quaife has made to the way the car drives

vtcarl 13th August 2013 10:37

looking good mate. good to see joes gearbox getting some use once more.

gojka 13th August 2013 10:51

Haha cheers buddy, it was a waste to see it sitting and for the money I decided it was a must haha

gojka 27th August 2013 01:58

Ok next update for the saxo popped down to stoke this afternoon to pick up some new parts, got myself all 3 vibratechnics mounts upper gearbox lower gearbox and ecu mount, now I already have a solid pugsport lower gearbox mount although I have replaced my upper baker gearbox with the vibratechnics mount and also replaced the standard ecu side mount with the vibratechnics one, the difference is great, the next things I will be looking to get are the vibratechnics wishbone mounts a lower brace and group N top mounts :)

gojka 3rd January 2014 00:47

I've now unfortunately sold the Saxo which would of been my track car but I haven't got the funds to do it right now :( I have now however own an Avus blue BMW e36 328i sport, with full service history, not a spot of rust, full black sports leathers, duel climate control, 98000 miles on the clock ( when I purchased it after a 3 hour drive back in October ) I'm not going to lie I do miss the Saxo because of it's handling capabilities but the new car is so nice to drive and being my first RWD it did feel strange haha.
The car was pretty much standard the only things that were changed were the wheels for some genuine polished M3 3.0 pre 95 wheels, and some cheap eBay coilovers which will be changed at a later date. Right now for the pictures :)

What do you guys think :)

wizardmanjm 3rd January 2014 01:37

sad, but thats a tidy beemer!

JoeHindle 3rd January 2014 03:10

That BM is stunning! Love the M3 wheels!
