Just saying they are adjustable isn't a clear indication as to whether or not they are both height and damper adjustment or just damper or just height. I'd still take it to a proper geometry place to get it set up, they will sort your tracking and everything properly to how you drive.

Friend of mine took his car to a place just outside Silverstone and got it set up for "B Road Blasting", handles so much better than before the car was set up right.

hes just said they are not height adjustable

Davey-Prater 22nd May 2011 13:09

In his first post...

bullens 22nd May 2011 13:12

so after all this your going back to his first post, hahaha

Davey-Prater 22nd May 2011 13:15

Oh my, are you for real? Yes I was going back to his first post because that was where the confusion was created over whether or not he had coilovers or was talking about adjusting the damper stiffness. Not everybody know's which brands do and do not sell coilover kits for which cars. I was then just offering some advice. Must you be so ignorant.

bullens 22nd May 2011 13:16

it was easy to gather from the first post that he wanted to adjust the firmness of them not height

You haven't got me there at all. I just cannot be bothered to argue with you. I've given my advice to the OP and it's as simple as that.

I had spax on my first vtr mate. I'm 90% sure you turn the adjustment knob on the top of your front dampers clockwise to stiffen the shock. On the rear, you should have a screw on the side of the damper. Use a flat blade screwdriver turning the screw clockwise to stiffen the shock. I would personally back the screws off on all 4 dampers and start adjusting from scratch making sure that all the dampers are adjusted the same amount of clicks. It is 28 clicks from the softest setting to the stiffest.

I hope that helps mate.

tbh if you know how to do it, it is a bit of a waste of money to get someone else to tweak the suspension of the car that your going to be driving. its all personal preference at the end of the day.

set it like in the middle and just see how you like it, if it needs to go softer or harder etc. too soft though it can bounce, and too hard it can 'jump'.

(and spax dont make a 50mm spring btw)
