Well i havent replied in here for a while..... :n:

Hows everything going? Got anymore updates for us? :D

x

liam_b 11th July 2009 23:52

lol whats this thread turnt into. tbh im not bothered that tonto beet me to vaning the saxo it was just an idea i was/might be doing and not because i have seen it on the polo as i thought of the idea befor i seen it at ists just because i thought it would look good on my car and be different.
90% of the things ive done on my car have been done befor i just like to bring all the ones i think are good together in one car to make it a one off

anyway back to the updates:
rear circuit breaker is in had to move some of the fuse across but some of thos will be removed soon as there not needed so boot will look a little more neat

sprayed my front brakes as the white started turning a nasty creamy colour as i sprayed them last year. you lot think there white enough? lol

have remade the interchangable port system as i broke the last one because i was in a rush to get to mod nats this one is being made out of 18mm mdf instead of 12mm and the ports will be fiberglassed in

finaly have got some of the panels done for the tunnel just need to finish off the main chamber and work out the porting

StephanieLouise 12th July 2009 10:33

Wow those brakes are white now lol...

The Hairtricks should be alot more fun and easier once you have the tunnel in, alot more cone area :D

Keep Us Updated With The Tunnel :y:

Sneakydevil89 12th July 2009 10:50

thanks mate did them properly this time and sanded them down so i got a smoother finish

nothing to major but will be a bit louder with the mdf roof and trying to sort out some of the rattles outside found out at low and loud that a winegum under the bonnet stops it rattling :P

Sneakydevil89 12th July 2009 19:35

haha, winegun, now thats a modification lol

never even thought about sanding the calipers down, i just used a wire brush, or should i say actually i got my ex to use a wire brush lol

yh **** sound proofing just jam winegums every where lol just dont let them get wet then dry in the sun as thay go realy hard and dont come off body panels well lol

i used a wire brush 1st time i did mine but using a sanding block gives a lot more flater surface

had a awsome weekend went to t17 in oxford on saturday drove up with a few lads from ta and one on the lads in a punto lost his sunroof when we where on the moter way luckly the lad behind him swerved out the way befor it exploded on the floor lol he still enterd the competions with his roof coverd in duck tape lol.
i managed to get up there in one piece tryed my 45hz ports and the where an epic fail so back to the drawing bord put my 25hz ports back in and it was fine got 148.2 dB drag then 150.2 propper droppers walked away with 2 tropyhs :D

after t17 i drove up to wolverhampton stayed in a premier inn witch was a nice change from sleeping in the cold cramped saxo sunday went to bass junkies open day witch was one of the best open days ive been too 1st time ive been and there seemed to have more than some of the small car shows lol that wernt using the normal mic people test with so my scores shot up 154.9 with the doors closed 156.9 with the door open got 1st place there :D

all in all a good weekend manage to drive 500 miles in the pure saxo with the clutch going got about 20 miles from home went up a hill and the clutch started smelling think its time for my 4th clutch in 2 years lol

Jim-Bob 19th July 2009 23:24

Oh ok i'm a member on TA but i dont think i've ever posted on there, but next year i'll make sure im there as its only down the road from me.

Should have the VTS and i'm just starting my boot build :), i'll only be there to look round though as i won't be anywhere near powerful enough to compete.

yh thay used a audiocontrol mic the db drag and prooper dropers use a termlab mic witch are the the mics that are used world wide but i was happy to piss about with the ac mic lol tryed tryed doing 150 @ at 20hz but it seems the lower the hz the more simular the reading is to the termlab mic so i only managed 148.6 at 20

thanks i might pop to bnq sometime this week to get the rest of the wood for the tunnel then il get lots of pics up of me playing around in saw dust lol routers are awsome but so ******* messy lol

Well the set-up i've been given seems to have an under powered amp imo, need to get the model number and do some research on power figures so might give it a go if i can get them up to the full potential.

James
