Im thinking of getting a safety devices cage for mine if funds allow. But want the jenveys, etc on first. Might be getting a new daily driver soon so can work on mine properly.

Hello....

Oh believe me I know all about your car I've followed you on rallyereg and 106owners lol!

Mines silvertop with PH3 cam so will be no where near you'r power.

But I'm not really pushing for huge figures I want something that's fun to drive and allows me to improve the track driving with suspension and everything and then move on to more power later :y:

sje00 26th March 2011 03:45

I didn't realise many people knew about my car??
Gotta hand it to ya for going down then silver top route. dont know of any/many who have done the silver top on bodies.

Have to let us know how ya get on buddy! What sort of power you aiming for?

SaxoMuffin 29th March 2011 13:42

Yeah alot of people do it's an insiprational car for us 8v guys lol....

Yeah no ones got the Colin Satchell kit on the silvertop as mine was the first inlet manifold he made...

Will do it's still at Atspeed getting the wiring and mapping done..but I'll be happy with anything over 120 to be completely honest as that will give it that bit more of a much and an epic noise...It's mainly going to be used on track and will be a good base to then move onto alot more power...:)

I'd love an INOX but it would be spoilt with a silencer due to track day regs..thinking of getting the kam racing as my current piper is slowing eroding away...

I know you have probably been asked this a million times but say it is 120bhp why didn't you just whack a 16v engine?

cause the 8v has more torque lower down rev range than a 16v hense better pick up and plus sound of bodies makes it ideal to drive, 16v doesn't pick up till about 3500-4000rpm when second cam kicks in on a standard ecu system, it's nice to be different instead of following the crowd dropping a 16v in every vtr as it's so common. Anyway Wes any update on the wiring/mapping with Colin?

I have and i've asked it a million times...I'm obviously liking more than 120 but I'd be happy with it...And I'm not pushing for high figures I just want to enjoy the car..Get used it it with a bit more grunt and then I'll be improving the power to say the least.

Smiles per hour man smiles per hour!!

Well said!

Of course being unique is always nice! better than a sheep of a 16v...I'll just laugh at all the 16v'd VTR's that this will rape lol...

And no major updates yet just ongoing I guess....hopefully it will be ready this saturday when you'll all see some nice big updates :D

Richy_Rich 29th March 2011 18:32

You can have alot of fun with this!

sje's pissed all over my 16v, and atm still does!

Thanks man really appreciate it...it's a shame a thread on the internet doesn't actually show how much time/care goes into a car..
