PETE-VTR 10th September 2008 18:59

i received my LEDs today in the post, just out of interest i know they are a straight swop but which end is positive and which negative??

Predator_R32 10th September 2008 19:13

not a straight swap, the cut off on the corner determines the positive

please take not when you remove the old led first on which way the cut off on the corner is at, i usuallu do a little sketch, square with the corner shaded in

saxo_bigbass 10th September 2008 19:14

Lee_Boy 10th September 2008 19:20

...thanks for that i will make sure i do it tomro when i have a crack at it.

also do you have any tips or pointers that i may find usefull??
the bulbs are 500mcd, they will look good right?

cheers

Predator_R32 10th September 2008 21:19

yeah mate they should be fine, they will probablies be quite bright actually, but remember you can dim them

only pointers is to test the led after you have soldered one in, do one at a time, take one off put one on, you can easily tell which ones you havent done because they will be neat :p

when doing round the ribbon connectors be very careful you can easily burn them

How easy is this to do?
It looks amazing but to me it seems theres to much that could go wrong.
Has anyone done this succesfully that has no experience with soldering or electricals, if so would you recomend giving it a bash?

Cheers

Andy_brown2k 14th September 2008 18:31

forgot to add:
Is soldering easy?
How risky is it removing the needles?
Is it tricky removing the dials from the dashboard?
