Aww shame haha, hope your going to FCS then! :D

Well have a safe journey :)

Lewis 18th April 2010 19:18

Ive just got some images of how my car stands now for you guys to see :)

Im in a bit of a dilemma, im unsure if i can afford the insurance on a VTR so when september comes when i wanted to buy one, im no longer certain i can. SO... do i keep modifying the 1.1 for a year more or so, or just save every penny i can so i can buy a faster car?

Cheers
Lewis

Furio-92 18th April 2010 19:21

looks pretty good, get a VT kit on it tho

Tom5190 18th April 2010 19:22

i thought you got ridiculasly low insurence quotes? and are you going off to uni definatly? if so you want something tahts going to be reliable for when your down there, so if you want a faster car then your guna need someting in good nick and reletavly low mileage, wh not just drop a bigger engine into yours?

I like that idea but my parents would hit the roof if i even mentioned it, besided i think for the costs involved id probably be able to get a VTR. Or a shot in the dark is a Furio/westy with a 16v still registered as a 1.4

And im deffo going to uni :\

Tom5190 18th April 2010 19:28

surelly your parents would be the same with having an car with an undocumented converson though? or equally as unhappy with you having a vtr as appose to doing a conversion your self? Yea you could end up basiclly doing a swap from your car to a vtr + or - a few hundred quid as they dont really differ in price.

Furio-92 18th April 2010 19:29

There arent any more shows near me :(

dankzy 18th April 2010 19:34

you cant even tell the difference between 1.1 and vtr engine from just looking at it, you could get your car to full vtr spec anyway, all you need is rear disc beam and engine. sleeper ftw! :)

Liam-westcoast 18th April 2010 19:37

your car looks amazing, makes me want to get a 1.1!

Lewis 18th April 2010 19:39

Put it this way, my parents dont mind if im not getting an old car with high milage. They wouldnt have a clue if an engine swap had been done. But to do mine would be impossible to conceal the operation and where would i get £300 from :(

If i sold my Desire for £1600 i could buy a VTR for <£1200 with decent miles and age. Then the spare £400 will help towards insurance. Ill see my circumstances when insurance is getting close.

Tom5190 18th April 2010 19:42

yea i see your point like, owell like you said see what the crack is come renewal time, what price's are you getting now? also are you wanting them bush's changeing?

dankzy 18th April 2010 19:44

£1200 will not get you a decent vtr, it will get you a W reg with about 90k on it also i'll fit the engine for ya :)

Lol its actually quite simple

1) Buy alloys you want and refurb them
2) Have your car lowered
3) Choose an exhaust system

And im from Ormesby, how about you? Need a meet up sometime :)
