Little Update 7th March

After chatting with a few people and sorting some stuff out...
Ellie will be getting the final touches to the exterior sorted out this week and next week in the build up to Donny :)

I'll post the full list up of exactly whats going on a bit later...

The new harnesses have also been ordered and will be fitted shortly
Followed by a rollcage and then buckets just before i get on track again on 5th and 6th of April

Watch this space ;)

Adam_Q 7th March 2008 10:28

PM Kam on here on just pop onto www.kam-racing.co.uk and have a butcher's are the member section...

Dont think you have to be premium to get the discount iirc ;)

Thanks for the comments everyone :)

No more inertia...Passenger harness has been fitted and some inner trims resprayed sating black along with the the front bump strip
Donny isnt happening now for a list of reasons...so FCS '08 will be the next event coming up (22 Jun iirc?)

Plans for the next few weeks...
Next up the alloys need some attention, remote start fitted to my alarm along with a few finishing touches to bodywork and exhaust before the cage and 'special' touches are sorted ;)

Throttle bodies are now out of the window as i'll be looking at around 3-4k for a decent setup thats runs like i'd want it to...sad but not really essential if im not keeping her for much longer

With track time and a few trips to the ring planned i need to look at response and handling not power. So the performance mods that i do will be aimed at suspension, brakes and feel of the car before deciding on the next step once she's ready for a bit more go :y:

Red :)

Little update

Not sure how many of you know how stripped my car has become over the last few months...a lot of weight has been saved and the weight watchers crash diet approach has pulled off the effect i was looking for :p

Anyways...I will getting rid of my mint GTI leather soon (:( i know...) and bolting in a new pair of perches very soon that are lighter and re-trimmed in black/white leather to compliment my harnesses

Going for the comfortable track look which will be almost completed with a full interior re-spray in gunmetal grey to replace the shitty black paint job that iv had to live with for the last month and a bit...

Cage will then be sprayed up and welded in with extra supports...a few of you may already know what colour i am going for so shhh and i will update you all soon on this ;)

More bodywork and a few extras to the Clifford alarm system i currently have (G5) are also on the way :y:

Red :)

Agreed.

Pfft creature comforts :homme:

Love that example but a full re-spray in gunmetal will be lighter and better for everyday use ;)...with this weather atm id have sore hands and knees after having to clean it daily to keep it mint :P

31st March...

Got the week off so started on a few things i've been meaning to get around to for a while ;)

Started fairly early and stripped the whole car...
Pretty extreme i know but i needed to re-wire everything
and get the interior shell ready for the bodyshop to respray it in
Gunmetal grey to match the exterior so why not eh? :P

Pics of today's antics...

I've also been wanting to this for a while so thought i may aswell
lose some more weight and make the front look a bit more agressive
at the same time lol.

Please bare in mind that the front bumper will be meshed in black and lacquered
when on my next trip to the bodyshop (soon) when the bumpers will be colour coded,
front will also be wide-mouthed along with a few other modifications to the overall bodywork
before FCS ;)...

Pics from under the front bumper looking up at the fog light mounts...

Use a 10mm spanner and loosen the bottom nut then top-left followed by the last nut located on the top right (tricky as fook to get to on the passenger side)

Lastly loosen this screw located just behind the fog lights...

Slide the fogs out and re-tighten before removing the bulbs and attached
wiring from the fog lamp and loom of the car

Job's a good 'un!

No fogs!!!

More pics of the whole car and re-wiring tommorow morning before i get her back from the bodyshop Wed...just in time for the Guildford meet hopefully *fingers and toes are firmly crossed*

I'm well happy with todays progress and in hoping that the interior will
be finished tommorow so i can crack on with a few other bits this week
before the rollcage is prepped, sprayed and given its rightful place inside the car.

Loosing some serious weight there dude! You should remove the firewall material... that stuff is so heavy!!

Already out as im having a re-spray...the paint wouldn't be a decent finish on that surface without some fibreglass or sommat so had to go tbh lol

Nuts i know but im loving it and dont miss the creature comforts as i have amped up Alpine front components running from a T-222 amp, JBL 100w sub in custom enclosure running off a Vibe slick amp all of which is all uber-light so all good ;)

Karl 31st March 2008 21:27

Do you not think itll look bizzarely weird when you have a cage and buckets etc with a sub?
its half track wannabe half cruiser?
does that make sense? lol.
