![]() Just a matter of playing about with the software, see what things do to your map, datalog the afr etc. I don't touch the ignition settings (although I did change the cold start advance a tad) but just play about with the fuel map, MAT correction, warmup etc. to try and make it better. Sometimes things make the map worse, but you can just load up the old map and you're no worse off. The new predator software can datalog your afr's and take your target afr and change your fuel map to try and get it spot on - this gets you almost there tbh. I'm no expert with it, but like to learn and am more than happy to play about with it, take it for a drive and see how it feels :P I think it's a good thing to learn so you know roughly how people are mapping your car, and what they are doing etc. |
That looks very interesting. I am learning this all next year with emerald racing ecu's.
I was gonna say if you don't know what your doing i would be careful around the maps. But as your only doing fuelling all will be ok. Ignition a bit wrong could get you in serious shit |
Absolutely love your plans! Have an ace one. Good work on the mapping, impressed! :y: Keep it up lad.

Emerald Ecu's are pretty good - I like the software and how you map it! When it goes boosted it'll be mapped up on the dyno - I just want a basemap for it for running the engine in then can bolt the charger on and away we go !! |
I would ask to be there when they map it to learn how the base map was made and make it easier to adapt if needed in the future

I'm sure if he's anyone that is interested in the job he is doing he won't mind letting someone look in and learn a few things. But yeah i'd just stand and watch, not interfere

looking good m8, wish i could figure all that out so i could sort a good base map with the cams reset and low comp pistons, but i have tried understanding it and its beyond me lol

Just finished reading your new progress thread and has me contemplating a super charger setup as opposed to a turbo charged setup for the track car. The parts I have bought allow me to swing in either direction.
Looking forward to seeing this completed. I know how you must feel loosing the bodies, since I have got them I am in love. |

It's more of a hobby than anything tbh. just enjoy playing about with the car ! Quote:
I just like the linear power delivery that a s/c would have - it'd be nicer to drive around quickly than just with oooodles of torque that comes in over 500rpm and just spins the wheels. Everyone is different though and I think it's a personal choice which you'd prefer. Some people like to be pushed back in your seat which a turbo would bring. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- On another note, car's booked in for an MOT on Tuesday, whilst it's there it'll be going on the dyno for a couple of power runs, so will see what the c2 inlet, ATPower TB and Piper cams can do and compare it to the old TB setup !! Could be interesting ! Will keep you guys updated ! |
Where was the intercooler from? Looks quite a good one. Im thinking of going back to boost idea as would be money better spent for the power id get over going n/a.

Intercooler will be for sale
Along the lines of £50+delivery (plus a bit for packaging)+paypal fees I'm back in UK tomorrow and will put a pricelist up for all parts - will all be bargains as ideally I don't want to take bulky parts upto Bristol with me when I move up there. Pm me tomorrow evening if you want any parts/pics/info - keep an eye out for pricelist in the forsale section |
Just in Calais - eurotunnel tomorrow morning

Car was spot on, didn't use any fluids - most of it was motorway cruising between places so no real reasons for killing it!!
