Just fit a gti6 engine, a far better starting block. I'm sure with your immense driving skill the extra 20kg that it weighs won't make any difference anyway...

There hardly any better....remember the Mi-16 was used in 306 maxi's etc...

And i dont need anymore weight over the front end to impair handling...and comments like that are stupid.

The Mi-16 engine will do just fine..We've spoke to enough people who are actually in the know who race them..

mi16 should be ok, twin 45's, maniflow comp exhaust, pts sump baffle, uprated mounts, lets go and play!

Mark has unfortunatly been banned but i will keep it updated for him....

He has recently spent £500 on polishing the crank and new big end bearings, mains and thrust washers...

Full Rebuild parts as in clutch, headset, water pump, cambelt kit etc etc so engine is going to be like new

His mate is currently building it now and its booked in on rolling road on the 4th of jan were hoping for 190bhp but will keep you all posted

Update: 2/1/2010

Mark has recently had the engine fully rebuilt by a good friend...its going in this weekend or next...

New Bottom End
All New Gaskets
Water Pump
Cambelt Kit

Etc etc

Our 1st event will be brean stages at the end of january where were hoping for a good result.

Will post more pics once engine is being put in and pics when it is in.

Also will post pics, vids and results as soon as the next rally is over.

We are trying to get a baffle in there by then otherwise none...

Mark has friends who have been tracking Mi's for years had around 10 of them and as they say a really good rebuilt Mi with clean oil ways etc is unlikely to surge.

You have to remember these engines do 1000's of miles in a 405 or BX without a problem and brean stages has no real long fast corners so should be ok.

Update: 10/01/2010

Engine now in and running, just need to drill hole in inlet manifold for servo pick up and join exhaust manifold to cat back then ready for rolling road.

Yes colin mark was freezing led in snow doing exhaust manifold bolts up....couldnt feel his fingers he said haha
