Haha good luck with that it would be pretty hard hiding the wire going into the steering wheel. Here's the video:

jack123 9th May 2010 12:35

haha sounds good, what VTR are you getting? I was after a mk1 16v conversion if possible

Morgiee 9th May 2010 14:22

lookin real good that engine start, you get that little excitment in you when it works lol.

What would be really cool is if you had an alarm system were you can remotely start it from your keyfob, bit like this:

However idea for next car lol

Morgiee 9th May 2010 14:46

was just thinking what you told me last night inspired me. If i get this new job, then will have to sell up the beauty 1.1 sat at home lol and go for a vtr/vts. Then put good money into alarm system that locks, has automatic window closure, engine kill switch and remote engine start. Also up the engine proformance if not already. That way no mess on with putting elecy windows or well might was well finnish the central lock would be a bit silly having wires in and no motor.

Lewis 9th May 2010 14:53

Sounds like you got a plan mate, seens how your going to be 20 pretty soon you could easily afford the insurance on a 16v, wether its a VTS or not :P

jack123 9th May 2010 16:39

Wow!! Seems bit too cheap mind, mite be high milage or something. Mind you i would love it, thing is the insurance is way out of my league :wall:

Would still love to buy it, if there is any chance of me being able to afford it.

You buy a car registered as a 1.4 or 1.1 on the V5. And yes i understand the complications this can cause. Ill look into gti insurance prices later on.

jack123 9th May 2010 20:40

106 gti would be nice one mate would be good to see what u do to it also!
