trying SO hard not to thread hi-jack, so i think we better stop this one-to-one convo, but...

my car's a y-reg, so it's coming on for four years old. i have seen so many different engine bay pics and many have gone for different colour schemes. there was a red one i saw (rudi-ssc) and that looked lush. a lot of people have gone down the chrome root. i was looking at prices for chrome/alloy oil and water caps and they were something like £60 each!!!

it looks like the modifications are coming along very nicely indeed. a very good choice in rear lights too. when are you thinking of getting some smoked front lights? in the uk, the smoked front headlights are about £150, which is about 219 euro's. so i dont think you would be looking at paying anymore than that.

your exhaust sits just nicely and does not look out of place.

your interior is very very nice. its definitely something i have on the agenda. makes the interior look and feel that much nicer.

so, your car is going in to be lowered tomorrow. im sure you will love it. im down 60mm front and back and i dont regret it one bit.

on the first page, you posted pics up of your engine bay. i am so jealous as your bay is so clean and mine is or was terrible. lets compare the two pics...

yours...

mine...

i have cleaned mine since that pic was taken but tomorrow i will be giving the car a proper clean inside and out as well as the engine bay and will therefore take a few more pics.

keep us updated mate

Thanx for the comment mate!

frevo ordered the lights for me and they cost me 220 euro's so thats a good price...
I'm going to pick them up at his house sunday...

I'm really curieus how the car handles after te lowering tomorrow... And how it looks..
I'll post some pics as soon as i get home..

For the engine bay, it was so clean when i bought it...
I'm going to try to keep al clean an tidy..
With my former 1.4 i didn't and it looked as dirty as on your pic...

I see u have a BMC.. Did u notice any inprovement when u fitted it??
Couse i'm thinking to trow the K&N off and get me a BMC as well..
My opinion is that an open air fliter sucks in to much hot air and thats not to good for the performance, I thinh a closed system like the BMC would work better..

I'll keep u all informed when i change something...

p.s. a little off-topic talk never hurt anyone..

Went to the carshop today for the lowering...
The front is lowererd perfect, but on the rear a torx-bolt was giving us a hard time and went dull....
Now i have to go back again next week and they are going to drill it out...

So i'll have to drive in redneck mode for a whole week... it looks terrible...

saxx 14th August 2005 18:21

well this is the first time i have had an enclosed induction kit. in the past, i have only had open air filters, which make a loud rear from around 2/3000 rpm. with the bmc, it has a meatier sound and kicks in around 4500rpm. i personally havent noticed the difference. if i had it tested, then id notice the difference.

the car is looking very very nice indeed mate. i think you should look into purchasing some new headlight bulbs. as you can see, citroen supply saxo's with the standard yellow/orange look bulb. it will look 100 times better with a set of white/blue xenon bulbs.

BMK 16th August 2005 14:18

Yeah, i'm going to buy some other bulbs but i'm still thinking witch brand and type..
I heard wurth bulbs filled wilth xenongas are good ones..

but in the pic I only have the small lights (dont know how u call them) on and not the normal lights...

DevilDamo 16th August 2005 14:24

yes mate, i know what you mean. you mean you only have the sidelights on and not the main headlights.

there are so many different types of bulbs out there. it depends what look you are hoping to achieve. the ones i have are called "philips blue vision". they produce a bright white light with a slight blue tint. some bulbs are not road legal and would therefore fail an mot. these bulbs would be clearly marked.

BMK 16th August 2005 17:57

I think i'll go for the Osram Silverstar +50%...
They are filled with xenongas in stead of halogengas and produce a brigt whitelight and should produce more light than a standard bulb..
For the sidelights i have some philips bluevision bulbs laying around at home or blue leds (but these are illegal )

DevilDamo 16th August 2005 18:49

nice one

i have philips blue vision headlight bulbs and extreme white sidelight bulbs.

BMK 10th September 2005 00:40

Saw a pic of someone who had sprayed his foglights black on the forum and it looked great...
So i gave it a try as well, and it worked out just fine...
