Just installed my Ecosse Induction Kit. Had one minor problem as it wouldn't stretch to the slam panel so I had to drill a few holes and use some tie-raps to secure it in place as it was very close to resting on the manifold cover. Jobs a good-en anyway, also put some Autoglym bumper care on it to clean it up ;) here's the new look.

Oh also got a shortened aerial (about half the length), this was given to me by the lad I bought the induction kit off.

Anyone want to see what my cat did to a squirrel? See the last photo ;) He's a right hunter!

It's been quite a few weeks since I updated my blog. This update contains:

1. Crash update!
2. Engine and Performance Update are about half way down this post ;)
3. Summary in short at the bottom of this post

Some of you may know I had a little accident :( I won't go into details as I don't want to embarrass myself haha but the damage was:

2 x bent front wish bones - now replaced

1 x bent track rod end - now replaced

Front left wing pushed in - pulled back into place by myself so looks like new

Front right wing dinted - yet to be repaired

Front bumper must have been yanked down which caused the upper brackets of the front head lights to snap. These are ok and don't really need replacing yet but the front bumper needs respraying as there are some light scratches on it.

Right rear quarter has a dint in (where I had one originally when I got the car haha), this is yet to be repaired.

Right hand side has a few minor scratches on, but as the whole of that side was going to be resprayed anyway then this isn't going to be an extra cost.

Front right wheel arch liner also ripped off, got a new one of those now :)

Here's some photos of the damage anyway, i'm going too put some more photos up once the rest of the body work has been sorted :)

The damage looks a lot worse that some of these pictures due to the amount of dirt and mud that covered the car :p

I bought some new clips so this skirt and wheel arch are now back in place.

This is the wing that has now been pulled back into place.

Wheel arch liner!

Engine and Performance Updates:

Another update on my 16v engine conversion. I had a problem with the engine running rough at low revs, and it kept cutting out. The problem was the loom from my VTR did not match, mainly the manifold pressure sensor and oil pressure sensor that are different. Anyway I got myself an engine with loom attached, removed the loom and put it in my car. Works a treat now :y: I've also sold the spare engine on so the loom only cost me £50 :)

Here's the spare engine with loom:

Loom detached:

My old loom, ECU and induction kit out ready for the new one to go in:

Loom being installed:

Finished and working top notch - thanks to RickyP-RPM :y:

On top of the work that RickyP-RPM did, he also installed the following for me.

Bilstein B8 front and rear dampers
Eibach 50mm springs
Powerflex front anti-roll bar bushes
Right rear hub
All four brakes overhauled and serviced ready for Oulton Park.

Powerflex front wishbone bushes and rear beam mounts have been purchased but yet to be installed :)

Off with the old ...

In with the new ...

Oh and I almost forgot, i've added some VTS door badges ;)

Summary

I've got to say, although I had the accident. I still love my car, she is running better than ever with the new engine and performance parts. I can't wait for the 13th of November with my 1st track day at Oulton Park. She will be back to looking her best by the end of the year, pictures will follow to prove, so don't you worry!

iSlayeR 4th November 2009 22:28

bensvarups 4th November 2009 23:42

I can't wait, it's going to be epic, got myself a head rest cam and HD camera so i'll put some videos up :)

DusheR 5th November 2009 19:00

The turn around from banger VTR to clean VTS has been insanely quick. Muchos respectos

AlexB 5th November 2009 19:41

only thing i will say is im not a fan of the spring choice
had the same setup on my vts even down to the bushes and it was too soft imo still
bottom brace was hitting the floor at mallory park coming out the elbow and thats not a high g corner
i would say something harder is needed even something like spax or apex are better imo

boabVTR 5th November 2009 19:44

how did the squirrel taste. lol.

very quick transformation lovin it

camTcar 5th November 2009 20:00
