this whole idea/thread not a bit elitist/look at me? As yes there is a lot of rubbish being posted but how would this make a difference if you lot band together and go about like it is a private boys club? As no one seems to be a mod from the quick scan of the thread I've had.

As far as i can see, most generic information is out there either with a search or a google. Fair enough every setup will be different, but thats when clever people post a thread for peoples opinions, when generic information isn't enough. But again, don't see how there being a turbo club can help really except share information, which already happens already.

And no I'm not some dreamer that dreams about a dump valve and wants in, I have a turbo car.

read the pissing thread who said this was a sepratist club me no go do one!

Do you think half the threads on here get searched or researched before they are asked no! No offence to the ones that do but 80% of the turbo/supercharger threads get asked on here people don't know ask the same crap and dont bother looking down the page.

If I wanted to be in a "old boys turbo club" I wouldn't be on here

The_Notorious_C_A_T 3rd October 2009 13:08

I did read the thread. And yes it did state that. But it will look like that from the outside.

I agree there is alot of newbies posting shit and not searching. Which gives the image of if they can't be bothered to search they aren't really going to do it, which i totally agree with. But also could you not say the folk that post about v10 engines and turboing there saxo is also misleading the people who are honetly searching but don't know about stuff.

But would it not be better for the club as a whole though if information was shared publically so then you can say to the newbies, look here, all information with different specs is here?

I'm not targeting anyone in the thread saying it IS the boys club, but it can be look ed at it that way, and you must have known that if you had to mention it. Really my point is that the information would be better put out there in the pubic, and the idiots who are dreamers won't read it or read it and realise they won't manage, and the people who are serious will find it. Use the information as much as they can, then post any project specific items.

I think that that is the general idea. Just to begin with all the people who have had the experience of building a boosted saxo/106 need to be got together to share information so that a guide or whatever can be produced.

Doubt its intended to exclude anyone, just there is so many people at the minute claiming that they are building a boosted car, when all they actually have is a broken turbo off their mates 1976 Volvo 740 turbo diesel or whatever that its hard to tell who actually is building something special and who knows their stuff.

Yes - all the relevant information is already on here in numerous threads (thats how I learnt) but no one seems to be able to use the search button :wall: Or don't have evern the slightest grasp of how much these tings cost to do right. Mentioning no names but see down the page right now for examples. eg can i build a 350bhp turbo 106 for £2500 (although i get the feeling that that thread was a pi$$ take)

SunderZ 3rd October 2009 15:14

it a good idea to bring together all our knowlage to help other people and im more than willing to put some effort into produceing a thread to save the large amount of repetative threads being produced, is'nt what mark of this forum is about spreading knowlage and helping people out not just the "oldies" but the new selection of people who are buying into saxo these days and joining the forum.

just drop me a pm gav whith what ever information i can help you with

regards

chris
