I'm feelin black angel eyes - should look spot when you have worked your magic on it mate

Chris_429 29th December 2009 19:15

It'll either be black angels or standards with the inners painted black.

Inners on fogs will be painted too :)

Azza-VTR 29th December 2009 19:26

I like the idea with the fogs - you should let me know how they get on as I may very well do that to my own :y:

Chris_429 29th December 2009 19:40

Will do mate :)

enthrone 29th December 2009 19:47

get a supersprint on it mate!!

i love this vtr ;)

Chris_429 29th December 2009 19:49

Haha, yet another lad from the oc!

I'm debating atm, I've got my old Supersprint but the hangers would need modifying :(

Liked the look of yours the other day dude, I'd say that Supersprint isn't sounding right though - it's sounding how my 1.1 did when the headgasket went :(

enthrone 29th December 2009 19:51

chris never go on 106oc anymore! :(

supersprints fine as far as i know ;/

lil video of it ? sure its not sounding right?

Chris_429 29th December 2009 19:56

Nah, it's not sounding high-pitched enough - as silly as it sounds, that's how I know something was starting to go, and it was from the overfuelling where oil had leaked into the coolant system, effectively causing it to overfuel, I think that's due to the temp sensors not being able to correctly read the temp due to the sludge in there.

Should sound like this, it's not much of a difference but there definately is one:

Might just be worth having a check :)

Azza-VTR 29th December 2009 20:02

That little pug of yours used to sound sweet till the engine started to die lmao - this should be interesting with the VTR :y:

enthrone 29th December 2009 20:03

hmm def is a bit of a difference, tbh thought mate my vtr is slowly dying, just over 125k on her now ;(

never realised the 1.1 got valvered either ;o

Chris_429 29th December 2009 20:06

Probably is something starting to go then lol, 125k is good going if it's on original head gasket - my 1.1 lasted to 65k lol!

Yeah, it got valvered, was bloody quick when it worked, needed something reliable for work in the end though, so ended up with this lol

Worth fixing, good opportunity for a cam too whilst the head's off!

enthrone 29th December 2009 20:11

how come its not reliable?

tbh the saxos just for getting to work and back atm, lost most my intrest in bothering with it anymore. ;(
thinking vts/gti in a few months got the funds just waiting for something nice to come up, i wanted a nana gti for so long but there a tad common in this area these days ;(

Chris_429 29th December 2009 20:16

Well, there's a long list, but the short of it was, the wiring was shot, ECU was questionable and there was a whole load of things like driveshafts and balljoints on their last legs.

I know the feeling, I got majorly fed up when the h/g went on the 1.1 - it's weird, you can feel the car giving up, so you tend to give up with it lol. Get that sorted and a couple of new bits and you'll be loving it lol.

Yeah, I'm after a GTi when I hit 21. There is quite a few about lol, a few guys have got rid of theirs recently though :)

enthrone 29th December 2009 20:23

take it the valver isnt declared then ;p?

cars just passed its mot i was enjoying it again, until last night someone shot my flipping passanger door with a air rifle! i mean what the fuck. got a nice dent and a bit of paint missing :(

tbh ill prob get another vtr though just a mk2 low mileage this time, fuel economy on mine is so good, and i do quite high mileage ;(

Chris_429 29th December 2009 20:28

Nah, it was, it was just killing me lol. Another reason it had to go!

Wtf?! That's pretty random, I'd be getting them to sort it out, as long as they weren't waving the air rifle on my direction lol!

Yeah, they aren't bad - but I can't wait for another valver, f*ck this 8v stuff! lol

fastroadkid69 29th December 2009 20:40

just read the whole thread, youve done all the right mods o far buddy, i prefer it with the xsi wheels too, go for the piper back box, i have one and there execellent imo, nice couler aswell, how much did you pay for it?

Chris_429 29th December 2009 20:45

I won't say exactly how much, but it was well under 2k, with only 62k on the clock, 1000 miles done inbewtween the last 2 mots!

Any chance you've got a vid of the piper mate?

-Mango-Westy- 29th December 2009 21:22

Chris_429 30th December 2009 18:48

Pictures of bits falling off!

And pics of stuff back on again, with one of the flat arch thrown in in it's current state!

Azza-VTR 30th December 2009 18:51

Bet you was gutted Chris lol and the flat arch still has its looks - what happened to its side bump strips though?
Is that Shortstuff I spot in the last picture? - Is it still slower than a 1.1 lol :p
