Thanks for that paul greatly appreciated!.. the sticker is still on the engine which pushed me to buy it also its done 106,000 now wheels are getting sorted once its insured having a spot of bothered as there telling me its the 1.6 vts on there system so ive had had to take a picture of the v5 and send it too them.. did you have any of this bother? im with swintons just awaiting a phone call back...
ive got quite a few receipts but not a great load previous owner did say hes got them and will send them once he's found them..
apprently just moved?..
my plans are too keep it immactulate as it is and well serviced and maintained.. and get the wheels done properly..
m.o.t is due march so want to give it a good service and fine comb through to ensure everything is as it should be...
with out being a pain can you remember when it was last serviced?
the previous owner reckons it was done recently but ive gone out brought a oil filter just need to pop to auto factors to get oil and plugs ectect..
also if you can remember what oil has it been run on?
sorry to be a pain just want to keep it in good nick many thanks Danny.

I didn't have any bother with insurance as even though it comes up as "vts" it still came up with the engine size being a 1.4 mate. Tell them to enter the vehicle details on the DVLA tax website if they don't believe you.

Last service was done at 100k mate.
Oilwise it was run on premimum oil like castrol relevant to what was needed for the car (not cheap crap mate).

Any more questions pm me pal, dont wanna clog up your progress thread :)

Thanks for the reply lads...
First things first is to get this dam lambda sensor sorted..
which is proving a struggle...
this one looks identical to mine but the body above screw in point on the probe looks larger really need help on this as i want it sorted...
http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Ci...c743378ff&LAMS
Thats the sensor and ill post a pic up of mine soon..
mines currently out of the car so i can't use it untill ive sorted it..
looks like somebody bodged the one that ive taken off as half way down the wire's were crimped togeather and gave the ghost as the eml came on...
so took a look today and well a truley bodged not very impressed..
but i like everything perfect and want to get it sorted...
hopefully somebody will be able to help me Cheers Dan.

Right bit of an update got the sensor sorted after all ended up paying £55 off my uncle euro car quoted me a wopping £90 !! still not as bad as the dealers though!!..
Right thats one problem down next is too get a new fog light bulb and were on to a good-en then get the wheel re-furb :) :y:

Yellow_Saxo_Paul 14th January 2011 14:06

I had several probs with lamba sensor before mate, when i brought the car orignially, the next day the lamba went, £140 that cost me.

Hope its sorted pal.

SaxoKez 14th January 2011 15:55

looks smart love the colour, future plans?

Mauritius-Jimzy 14th January 2011 19:56

I did an insurance quote on this car and it came up as a 16v 1.6 vts, and was 2400 to insure like any other vts, when lookin at supersprints on international websites i noted how there could be confusion as different specs do get labelled vtr/s to us as we only have one for each,( i dont know the specifics of what europe had off the top of my head), but i couldnt make my mind up about this, because the insurance database, ( which im unsure of what it works off, e.g. dvla) recognised it as a vts

Mauritius-Jimzy 14th January 2011 19:56

a conventional uk vts*

danzman1991 14th January 2011 22:27

really like the car mate, looks mint.

VTSDanny 14th January 2011 22:45

Thanks all..
well fitted the lambda yesterday car was running great took my motorbike to work this morning instead of the saxo.. decided to go for a blast in it tonight got about a mile down the road and had a massive grinding noise and when i dipped the clutch got deeper went to pull off and its juddering like fook! so its telling me clucth is on the verge of going by that time i carried on but its got worse and louder the grinding...
limped it back home and now i got my uncle to sort me one out first thing tomorrow morning (he managers a auto factors) so ill get a decent one on the cheap...
just getting it fitted...
the car it self has 107,000 on it now and it really is truely immaculate really is...
i suppose the clutch has done well but with me only doing 38miles in it since ive had and already replaced the lambda and now the clutch has niffed me slightly never mind
i love it to be honast really is a stunning car just has come at the wrong time..
will keep you all posted on whats what...
Paul did you ever replace the clutch..?:y:

DanViner 14th January 2011 22:55

i would say it had a pretty good run after 107000 miles mine managed to tonk on to 118500 but easy fix if you know how or as you can use your uncle should have it back on the road in no time
