Your on the IoM.. The police don't care much over there.. Even when I had my "R" on and I was driving like a tit they still didn't bother me.. :l

Wow its nice to know how people judge before finding out the rest of the story!

I Literally finished work at 12, I went up birmingham on my own in my work clothes and the first stop was a routine check up because i was followed for a while... 2nd check was after i got my food by an un marked car (again routine check up) and just before i got home, another un marked car pulled me over and breathalised me as a 'routine procedure'...

At the end of the day im taxed, insured, got all round newish tyres, MoT'd and im a safe driver! I have a new gearbox and clutch and don't intend on being an arse breaking it or being an arse in general.

Tbh can see why you're pissed at that. If you weren't doing anything wrong, i dont see why 3 cops had to 'routine check' you. Were they stopping other cars?

m11ler 21st August 2011 13:22

I've never been pulled in my car, which is suprising because its not exactly subtle lol

SAM-S44MDS- 21st August 2011 13:25

Tax, MOT, insurance and new tyre's doesnt mean you haven't been drinking though does it.
Did you swerve to avoid a pothole? Object in the road? Take a corner wide?

Anything like that could make the police believe you have possibly been drinking, therefore they stopped you to check. That is their job mate. If you havent done anything wrong, then you havent got anything to worry about.

I've been stopped around 8-10 times in a few different saxo's, each time I have done nothing wrong and it was just a 'routine stop'. I had nothing to hide, car was fine. I lost around 5minutes each time, but atleast it proves they are doing their job.
So many cars out there that aint fit to be on the road., if you/friend/family got hit by one, you would be the first to say "why dont police check these cars" or something similar.
They cant win, no matter what they do somebody will always complain they are doing it wrong.

As E8_pqck said, some coppers are good people, some are dicks.

They have done in the past around birmingham cause a lot of racing activity in certain area's of the town crack off but its a saturday night... racers don't come out until sunday.

Viper 21st August 2011 13:31

There's probably a marker on your car. Just make sure you drive like a good boy then being pulled over will be no more than a mild inconvenience.

VTR_Bass87 21st August 2011 13:35

Sometimes i do swirv to miss potholes cause it breaks my back lol but i actually didn't last night i even said to the police that pulled me over 3rd time "is their a specific reason to why ive been pulled 3 times tonight?" and his reply to that was "Just checking for drink drivers, its a routine procedure"...

Not being funny but my mate drives round in a shed with no tax and possibly no MoT and doesn't have any problems with being pulled, So maybe they should be targeting those people and not me! they have the registration identifier in their cars so its no excuse in my opinion.

Not all of them have ANPR system though mate. And its not always as straight cut as 'yes its taxed, MOTd and insured so its legal'. MOT means f*ck all once you have driven it off the ramp tbh.

As for your mate, you should either tell him to sort himself out, or report hm for being a prize dickhead

Personlly, Id tell him to sort it out before the cops do get to him about it. As if he doesnt, Big men in jail will love his anus.

Don't worry all my mates have had a go at him about it but we give up. If he wants to continue doing what he's doing then he will suffor for it! he's already been banned for 2 years doing it before as he had no tax, 3 bold tyres and no insurance but that only happened cause my other mate grassed him in.

Hatcha 21st August 2011 13:49

It has to do with the time as well. Obviously you're more likely to get pulled at night/late evening.
It doesnt matter though f you're all legal.

My dad was in the force so I hear about a lot more than others. You would be suprised ;) I wish I still had my R plates....was an excuse to drive like a cunt

Moke 21st August 2011 14:13

I've had 3 Saxo's and been driving less than 2 years and have been pulled twice.

They're only doing their job :y:

Saxoladlesta 21st August 2011 14:37

Only the motorway/ERVs have ANPR fitted in them. The Focus panda cars have nothing like that, all they have is something called an MDT but you cant check numberplates from that. I highly doubt the police would waste their time pulling you over for nothing. How do you know that someone with a car matching your description wasn't driving around like a dick and they thought it was you.
Not sure where you got the idea of "4 pulls in a week" equals harrassment etc, they'd see you drive a saxo and that'd be justification enough just because of the stereotype. I got pulled weekly when I had mine.

Owned two saxo's and a 106 GTI....not been stopped once in any of them

Had the first one at 19 and drove it all the time

Depends on the police force I would say, Kent police seem to be fine in my experience

I would change the thread title because it's incorrect, it's not bullying

All seem like legitimate reasons to stop you tbh. Young (I'm guesing) lad driving round late at night. There is a relatively high chance that such drivers may have had a drink earlier in the night. They dont know if you had just finished work or not. As you said, you are all legal and not being a tit, so no need to worry. Its just a small inconvenience that may mean a drink/illegal driver gets caught :y:

In my old saxo i got stopped about 15 times in 9 months, all for checks for insurance, mot, tax,
3 off the times were breath analysis when the world cup was on,

but tbh it doesn't bother me, there only doing there job and doesn't take long at all
