I think it looks much better with the cover and the painted inlet. I do have a fuel rail cover, just painting the same gloss black as the inlet.

Today I changed the front and rear brake lines to goodridge braided lines and put in some new brake fluid. Brakes are much sharper now. It amazes me how some people overlook changing their brake fluid!

Started off up in the air, usual sight for a french car! :

And fitted:

Much better! :)

Gandi699 31st March 2013 20:07

Good work on the fluid, I did mine a few months back with 5.1 motul. The stuff in there looked original. As you say its amazing how many people just leave it

I used some castrol Dot 4. Does the 5.1 stuff not need changed every year or so?

Gandi699 31st March 2013 20:38

Yeah I think thats the score with it, its more hydroscopic I believe but its not a massive job to do with a self bleeding kit. A good dot 4 will will be more than enough anyway, I only used the dot 5.1 as I got 5l free.

Aye, I borrowed one for today, and I will definitely be buying one for my self, a very handy tool! I still went round each caliper and did them once manually though. Just to make sure :)

So yesterday I fitted my new k-tech exhaust as my miltek had cracked rather epic-ally (see pics below) I went for the supersports version without the silencer and it sunds much better imo. No more blowing everywhere! Its quieter on idle, and doesn't drone when cruising at 60-70 so Im very happy. Ordered it thursday evening and it arrived Monday, so a quick service also. :)

No fitted pics yet, as I still need to sort out the third mount at the back of the exhaust.

New gasket at the manifold:

Now for the cracked miltek, it had cracked at both sides of the box, so the box could pretty much move freely! Not impressed with the quality at all, and definitely will not be buying anything from them!

A quick video of my KTR exhaust (Why cant I embed the video here?)

Sounds nice that does! That Miltek is shockingly poor and they arent cheap either. Are you covered by any guarantee?

It really does. Doesn't drone at like 60/70 either. Nice and quiet until you are really giving it some. Aye, I always thought miltek were a decent brand. Not sure, it was on the car when I bought it, but I dont think there is any receipts for it. I was just going to get it welded then sell it.

Gandi699 1st July 2013 16:27

I have read a few bad reports about milteks with these to be fair, although its luck of the draw. Were you using poly exhaust mounts?

Most other cars I have heard good things about them, ford, audi/vw etc. Nevermind. Hopefully this exhaust will last the time of me owning it. Nah just standards.

Bobo0907 1st July 2013 17:04

A few more scenic pics I have found:

And a recent one of it after removing all the tar and then polishing and waxing it.

I also now have a machine polisher(Das 6) so I will give this a going over with that hopefully soon. Get rid of the light swirl marks on it :)

Thanks. You should try one. See if you can find one at a dealer or something? Thats what I did when I tried my first one. Turned out to be a bit of a shed, so didn't buy it!

rozaladdd 3rd July 2013 18:42

Fitted cup rear shocks. Back end was starting to feel a bit "loose" (ooh-err) Should hopefully sort that out! New windscreen fitted today, so MOT tomorrow. See how that goes :)

Gandi699 26th July 2013 09:05

Graeme 26th July 2013 09:50
