UPDATE TIME:
Right yesterday i had a guy i know come out and sort out a few niggly problems i had as got the MOT coming up so thought as better time as any even though some dont even come on an MOT. the problems i got sorted are:
1. bad earth to the horn
2. found out which ABS sensor has gone
3. got cruise control re-configured so it now works again
4. got the diesel additive counter reset as filled it but didnt have equipment to reset it
5. sorted out auto wipers
So glad its all sorted out now and got it all done at a bargain price too :)

Today came round and car was booked in to have a new windscreen put in as mine had a big crack in it from previous owner and also today had a few packages turn up, got the newer style LED rear lights as mine were a little bit tatty, new tax disc holder, new headlight bulbs 100W and a temp sensor! Heres some pics:

All bits:

Things to do for the MOT now is fit droplinks(already got) and fit ABS sensor(already got) then its all ready to go! due on the 17th but ill try and get it in the week before!

Comments appreciated :)

Luke 8th December 2009 22:09

Lights look spot on fella.

On my list to do after the new year once I have replaced my tyres and wheel bearing.

Ben 8th December 2009 22:47

New lights look loads better dude.

JayWard 8th December 2009 22:53

luke im going to need 2 front tyres in the near future mate too, but how easy they were to fit and how much they cost think it looks alot better :)

cheers for the comments barratt and ben its getting there slowly how i want it, looks so much fresher though with the newer lights

Luke 8th December 2009 22:58

Which tyres you going for?

I opted for Michelin Primacy. Expensive, but very good. 205/55 R17.

JayWard 8th December 2009 23:39

not sure mate decide a little bit nearer too, from working in the garge before i do know the michelins are good :)

R16H_RU 11th December 2009 21:04

look steady with new style lights dnt thy....clutch started slippin last nite on mine just after id decided 2 keep it lol soo gona have it done but a solid flywheel conversion

JayWard 18th December 2009 21:38

Well today was the dreaded MOT time and i was confident but stil had that feeling in the back of my mind it would fail lol id already done a couple of things for it like new windscreen, ABS sensor and droplink.

Turned up to the garage at 2 and in it went, hour later i was told all it needs is a N/S track rod end so got that done and a 12month ticket :) well happy! got couple of advisories which are: O/S front tyre getting low on edge, lower arm bushes starting to deteriorate but no play! nothing costly or major :)

Also got a parcel arrive which was my K&N panel filter, got recommended by luke so got one and will fit it very soon! all in all a good day! (alsoot my PT stickers to fit)
Heres some pics:

Hope you all enjoy :)

R16H_RU 18th December 2009 22:34

whr did u get your panel filter from? hit a pothole yesterday...got a bit further dwn road and heard a bangin managed 2 get home...sorted it 2day it had completely ripped the top rubber strut...pushed the shocker straight through it lol....changed the both...just glad it didnt scrap the rim

JayWard 18th December 2009 22:45

Got it from ebay mate, £25 posted which i thought was decent tbh

God you was lucky to of not got anymore damage, cost you much to sort out? you going to claim from the pothole or not bother?

R16H_RU 19th December 2009 16:49

£25 a side...u get the bearing with tht aswell soo not to bad...lol nahhh no point...probly take one look at my car and say well its because it lowered bla bla bla

JayWard 20th December 2009 23:33

Not too bad to sort out then mate :)

JayWard 20th December 2009 23:35

Well yesterday i fitted up my K&N panel filter and refitted the tuning box, i must say what a difference the panel filter makes, feelsso much better to drive and the response is great! gotta say i love it tbh probably cant tell off the pics but luke an back me up when i say the depth of the filters is so different!
Best £25 ive spent must say! Heres some pics:

old VS new:

and fitted to car:

i know in the first pic they look different sizes but its just because the old one is higher up due to the depth of it

J222JRA 21st December 2009 00:01

Nice mod mate, Panel filter ftw.

Has it got a good cold air feed??

JayWard 21st December 2009 11:45

cheers mate :) tbh havent actually looked at the cold air feed (fail i know) totally forgot if im honest, will check that out later!

might not of made a massive load of difference regarding bhp etc but the drive is so much more free/responsive that the 25quid was well worth it!

R16H_RU 21st December 2009 17:35

did u have like a little rad in the bottom of your airbox?

JayWard 21st December 2009 17:38

yeah still have, like a little mesh rad type thing in the bottom of the airbox you mean mate? how come?

R16H_RU 21st December 2009 17:45

just never seen it before wondered if yours had it 2...because its piped up 2 the water rad i think its 2 warm up the air that comes through...i always thought cold airs better but obv not if thts in the bottom

JayWard 21st December 2009 17:47

ive never seen one before either lol wondered what the hell it was for! everything is still fine with the panel filter so im guessing it doesnt affect it

R16H_RU 21st December 2009 17:50

when i put my filter in i was thinkin of takein it out but its thr for a reason so best leave it....thy could do with a better air feed 2bh

JayWard 21st December 2009 22:59

yeah prob best to leave it tbh i always thought the same as you though regards to cold air being better etc

307 HDI DTurbo *Mapped* *K&N Panel Filter* Problems 08-01-10!!!

UPDATE 08-01-10:

Well not so long ago i enquired on here about the car struggling to start etc and was aimed at the glow plugs, anyway i fitted some new glow plugs 2 days ago and yesterday i came to start the car and it was having none of it, the battery went flat really quick as if it had been drained overnight, anyway called the RAC out and we kept trying to get the car started which in turn burnt out the starter motor lol i was like great! but we didnt let this stop us trying to figure out the problem, after many tests he said something was draining the battery and staying on a live feed - this turned out to be the glow plug relay unit which had gone faulty inside and caused the contacts to be constantly touching which gave it a live feed which kept my glow plugs on overnight too and knackered them lol! so now because of the stupid relay i need:
1. Stater Motor
2. New Glow Plugs
3. Glow Plug Relay
4. Battery (Covered Under Warranty Though)

I estimate the costs to be around the £185 mark for the parts! just what i need! Rac said i should notice the car kick back into life again as he reckons the relay has been causing me problems for a while tbh all this because of a £30 relay lol anyway will update over next few days once its sorted :)
couple of pics:

Enjoy :)

R16H_RU 8th January 2010 11:39

Sorry 2 hear about the problems mate....your probly best 2 search on peugeotcentral for mechanical things..any problem u might have chances am someone on there has experienced same problem

JayWard 8th January 2010 17:26

cheers mate, obv annoying as hell but just gotta plod on and get on with things, hopefully if they are the only faults as listed above car should be sorted by monday :)

JayWard 9th January 2010 20:02

UPDATE on problems 09-01-10:
After the problems with getting the starter motor yesterday with it being the wrong one i made a few phone calls today and managed to sort something out with EuroCarParts and were very happy with their service, managed to pick up the starter motor and glow plug relay from them and took them down to the garage where i used to work, got a phone call an hour later saying that they were both fitted on the car which i was dead happy with :) now just got to sort out a set of glow plugs and a battery then should fingers crossed be ok (if what me and the RAC guy found were the only things wrong lol) hoping to have it back on the road on monday!
