looking gd

jsdvtr 24th August 2012 10:30

How much is needed to take off the casing for the top mount?

jsdvtr 23rd September 2012 16:12

Got the clutch cable (firstline FKC 1078) partly fitted the otherday, not a straight fit though. Had too file the plastic part which fits onto the pedal down as didnt fit through the bulkhead and the rubber part that goes up against the bulkhead on the engine side is too big.

welshpug 23rd September 2012 16:14

would have made more sense to make the hole in the pedal box larger.

Well i havent done anything to the rubber bung so still got that to fit properly. Could file it out abit, just wanted to give the heads up to people so they know.

colin.

you must have much more compliant trading standards people in your area ,or maybe they are busy enough with big problems .

I always quoted +vat on every page and that was not good enough for them --all prices shown must include vat --thats the letter of the act which they enforced to the letter ,
I had to prove to them that at least 80% of my biz was to non uk or trade customers to be allowed to advertise showing +vat.

that si why all my prices shown are including vat

Is this the correct CPS for the BE box?

jsdvtr 12th October 2012 08:39

Amyone got pictures fitted of the BE clutch cable to the bulkhead(firstline cable)? The one i have got, the rubber bung imo isnt strong enough to hold the cable in the hole and with the hole being on a angle doesnt seem to be very good fit.

welshpug 12th October 2012 10:05

have you modified the hole?

Yes I've filed it out, maybe not as big as should but it doesn't seem to fit that well. The rubber behind, is it worth cutting it abit bigger than the hole as there's no lip on the metal hole for the bung to sit on?

May remove the brake bar and take the whole pedal unit out.

welshpug 12th October 2012 12:07

the hole needs to be the same diameter as the rubber bit past the initial lip.

I'll make it abit bigger then, same as the bung and see how I get on. I've ordered a new cable as butchered the plastic piece and bung to see if could get a better fit.

Not started, decided to paint the bulkhead while the rack was off.

jsdvtr 19th November 2012 09:30

Got my TU5 BE rear bearing carrier today. Anyone got a part number for the bolts for the driveshafts? Guessing the normal saxo/106 will be different.

welshpug 19th November 2012 09:48

Stop guessing, get on servicebox!

jsdvtr 11th December 2012 14:31

Im going to be ordering my BE hubs which i'll be buying new. I need to know the lenght i need to machine them at 37mm. My old hubs are still on the struts and the car will be getting moved shortly so cant check them.

jsdvtr 11th January 2013 07:50

Does anyone know the lenght the BE hubs need to be machined at 37mm OD?

I will be machining them but dont have any MA hubs spare, i want them done so can get MA ones removed and BE fitted at the same time.

This is the boat I'm in also, may pay you to get a strut so you can work it out.

edbar 12th January 2013 08:22

Nice work

jsdvtr 26th January 2013 10:41

Coming to doing my hubs, i was going to machine them too 33mm lenght x 37mm OD as this is the dimensions of the wheel bearing and use a 3mm spacer for the offset.

Or does the hub need to be machined so the back face/flange is flush but there is 2 faces on the back of the hub which are 34mm and 36mm in lenght. Guessing it will be the smaller one in diameter to be machined too but either way its going to be 33-34mm lenght.

If i dont find out this anwser i will just wait until i have my MA hubs off and use old bearing and the MA hub to go off so i get the right offset, etc.

The spacer dimension i will be making them too will be 37.1mm ID x 51mm OD x 3mm Width for anyone whos interested for future reference. This is so it is just in with the inner smaller wheel bearing which is roughly 52mm OD so it doesnt clamp against 2 seperate moving bearings meaning the spacer could get damaged or damage the bearing.

jsdvtr 6th March 2013 11:18

Got abit of a problem with my clutch cable not returning back out once clutch pedal is pressed down, i dont know if mayber the cable is getting stuck on the outer sleeve maybe but its all connected up correctly.

jsdvtr 31st March 2013 18:18

Anyone tried the spoox BE cables??

jsdvtr 5th April 2013 11:57

Hi, I was wondering if any one had a part number for the rear engine mount/bearing mount? Been hunting high a low for one. Got one from a 1.6 hdi berlingo coming but if some one has a part number for a new item from pug/citroen even better.

Cheers! :)
