Prickle 22nd February 2012 15:04

What the part the holds the pads in? not a problem, il use the ones i currently have. Main thing i needed was the actual caliper as both are seized up pretty bad.

Cam 22nd February 2012 15:04

No the black plastic cover's for the whole arch.

They don't!

They cover the top, back and front! There is a small flap on the front inside!

If it has it has, but fair play for the owner of replacing the standard shocks and back, springs and raising it back to standard height lol.

Wheel probs collapsed in due to something failing no doubt.. or bigger tyres i dont know lol. :homme:

Yup I can see the edge on the picture I quoted above! lol

Not sure why people are thinking yours are missing when the picture is mainly of the back of the arch...where they don't cover anyway! :homme:

Same, i assumed all they had was what you posted. :)

Next couple of weeks cat back supersprint centre section and rubbers for the backbox from Kamracing.

Prickle 25th February 2012 16:02

Handbrake didnt need adjusting like i thought it would of, it has like 3 clicks since changing the calipers.

The rear was up on axel stands to save a chew on. At first it was going smoothly and then when it came to taking the main brake pipe off the nut wouldnt budge. :D i was ahh for fuck sake moar moneys :( : but they decided to come loose and it was plain sailing from there.

Old calipers, as you can see these were pretty much like this all the time so you can imagine the stress on the car pulling whilst brakes are locked on, nightmare..

Old calipers

Old disc

On car

Excuse the wood under the Axel stands, the ground wasnt level. ;)

Next job on Monday (day off) is to paint the calipers Yellow and get the cam cover polished up and a wash/wax etc and a engine bay clean.

Nae danger though.

Predator_R32 25th February 2012 16:12

Before ish. (with a light sand)

Note i did the front cover with the covers still attached to the engine.. Back im doing tommorow morning.

Nearly 3hrs later

And painted calipers Yellow to go with the 'S badge on the door.

Btter pics tommorow when the cars washed, polished. Going to clay it too.

I used Sandpaper, went from the roughest to the finest and then polished it with Autosol. I only got the pack of 15 from Halfords for £6.

Deliberately left viewing this thread for a while thinking that when I came back it might look like a normal height car. I was wrong.
