looking good bud. Why didnt you just bash bugger out the heatshield where it was rubbing. Thats what i did and now no more rattle plus you wont smell the underseal on the car burning as the heat from the exhuast melts it hmmmmm yummy

Heat under the car is much lower than before i removed the shields now
and im still re-sealing and painting the underside before FCS anyways
so i cant see any problems dude.

The 2 offending metal shields from the manifold flange to back of the centre pipe have been removed and the fuel tank cover left on here ;)
I almost never carry a full tank and the last bit of pipe is being heat-wrapped soon also so there's nothing to worry about tbh.

My fuel lines are actually checked so they wont pop off and piss fuel all over the road mate ;)

Also mulling over the idea of getting the tank modified but thats gonna be revealed soon.

i hope you're right! lol

i dont want to be getting a hot arse[/QUOTE]

Just dont stain my seats when we're on track and you'll be fine mate haha!

Ask AlexR - he did the same and learnt from it ;)

At least my car runs *cough* ;)

Love you really lol.
Need to sort out the Valeo next sat if you're around man.

Bloody Fluff...

Bet he had his shirt over his head while he fitted them.
He tried to fit mine and i ended up doing most of it and then double-checked everything he'd done after just to be sure lol.

Good to know everythings all sorted now for ya mate :y:

Noticed any difference?
The pedal was slightly harder on mine and the brakes slightly more responsive.

Will be sexual hearing the sound of that maxi set-up being used properly when you take her for that first spin soon ;)

Are you gonna do what Josh said and get the other stuff done around mapping?

Be good to see that grille on the car once its done. Looks good atm though!

Made some awesome buys and will have to have a look at fcs! Then again probably only see your new exhaust as you overtake me on track!

Ta Skorpion - its been to long without a grille tbh...

Trying to loose the shed approach and sort the exterior out a bit before FCS to a half-decent standard :p

Grille has been fully painted and given around 4 or 5 decent coats of lacquer.
Removed the rest of the top bumper of yesterday to test-fit everything and get everything in place.

Measured the grille to the upper bumper (original grille mounts were fooked to be fair lol) so i had to use some filler and bondant to make decent new mounts up so the whole thing stays in place.

Been left to dry and harden for the last 24-odd hours just as a precaution!

Quick polish up and a wipe then i'll re-fit the finished jobby back onto the car in a bit :)

Adam_Q 3rd June 2008 20:15

Get it on now fella! I'd started mine before you and I finished yesterday lol!

Viper 3rd June 2008 20:24

Good to hear man! :D
Canny wait haha!

RedB 4th June 2008 00:01

Right end of excuses.

The grille is finished and pictures speak louder than words.
I'll add some anyway...

Added a couple of top coats to make the flake pop more and add depth as the last few coats seemed a bit thin to me...

Left to dry for 24 hours-ish and then added a few decent layers of lacquer to add shine, gloss and protection to the finish...

Layed the grille on top of the upper-bumper section to get an idea of how much i needed to fill and bond to make the custom mounts strong enough to hold and keep the grille in place...

After leaving the filler and bonding mixture for another 24 hours :ponder:
I re-measured up the backing mesh...

Fitting the grille...
(Whoring skills havnt been up to much recently as you can see lol)

I'll get some before + after's of all three versions of grille's that have been on my car the last few months so you can see how much better this looks.

Glad its finished and fitted after 2 weeks of work.
Couldn't be arsed to mess the finish up and have to re-do anything so i
took time and got it pretty much spot-on with just rattle cans and some patience :D :p

Payney 4th June 2008 00:38

grantlowery 4th June 2008 00:51
