It's insane mate... It just wants to GGGOOOOOOOO :D

Trax is your friend, hopefully have the new fuel pump and even more POOOWWEEERRR by then - as if I need it - the thing tries to kill me torque steering all over the road with the current power as it is lol :D

Nice!

My 172 used to be a torque monster.. Bet this is in a different league!!

jpsaxo 25th August 2012 11:54

Cheers lads :)

The cars been detailed ready for TRAX by none other than The legend that is Tom aka unreal :)

Lots of other bits & bobs have been done, I'll reveal all @ TRAX next Sunday :)

Thats what I meant mate, last time I saw it had the tinted lights, I meant I prefer the standard ones on it rather than the tinted ones :y:

Streamline carbon mate, it's not cheap - great quality :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday I did a rolling road day @ Dynodaze for PFC. Very pleased with the results - first NA Saxo / 106 over 200bhp on there rollers, gave us a good idea of where we are at the moment :D

Tomorrow morning I'm off back down to Sandys to try and map the top end now I have the Walboro intank fuel pump installed. Fingers crossed :D

I'll update this thread properly after unveiling it @ TRAX :)

hard_corejoeboy 27th August 2012 21:40

Be interesting to see how yout car goes vs the charged cars of similar power

N/a over same powered boost anytime :-) (assuming car is the same :-) ) come on jp!! Light it up!!

adamskiTNR 28th August 2012 00:12

Don't know why the charged cars wouldn't win. But at least this will be screaming its tits off during lol.
Should be worth the time and money in the end

Mathias 28th August 2012 14:33

Cracking results Josh!! Looking forward to seeing sandy squeeze sone more power out of it now the pump has been fitted!!

Understand you probably don't want to list the spec.... But has it got standard or oversized valves? And standard or oversized pistons?

Fuck me she picks up quickly! Epic Josh I bet you're over the moon with it:afro:

And of course props to Sandy as usual for applying his talent in such a remarkable way - top man! :drink:

Sandy309 28th August 2012 19:15

Thanks Lewis.

Pump is in and solved the fuelling problem. It felt much stronger with that done and even before raising the 8k rev limit it was making about 8-10bhp more at the wheels in our rollers at 7500rpm with the right fuelling. Raised the limit as far as I'm prepared to take it (for longevity) and it still head butts the limiter. It feels truly epic now, blatantly more grunt than the chassis can handle in the lower gears and I'm very pleased with it.

It's on a standard 1.6 crank (without any of the worrying counterweight removal I've seen some people doing!) and overbored with slightly oversize valves, but still on original inserts which tells you they aren't as big as some people are using! I'm not going to be specific about dimensions I'm afraid, I don't want to fill in the missing pieces for my competitors. It's a package I've evolved over several years and I'm quite protective of the details

hard_corejoeboy 28th August 2012 19:23

Sounds awesome. Really awesome! You dont do renaults do you? Lol

Sandy309 28th August 2012 19:33

Not really, I'm building a full race development F4R with a friend of mine currently (Nick at Pure Motorsport), but it's such a pain in the arse engine beyond fast road spec, I'm not sure if I'll do any more!

scottie_436 28th August 2012 19:38

Should think ekking more power out the f4r is quite a challenge isnt it sandy??

Cant see you nearly doubling the power on one of them like you mangage so well on the good old j4 :p

Sandy309 28th August 2012 19:44

Double JP4 maybe, but not quite J4! F4R is a shame really, lets down an otherwise good car. Probably shouldn't start a debate on Josh's thread, but the EW in the 206 is a vastly better engine on just about every level for race use.

Mathias 28th August 2012 20:02

Many thanks for The reply regarding the valves / pistons sandy! Very interesting! Congrats to you and Josh for an epic build! Also interesting to see it pick up so quickly witha standard crankshaft, I agree that some pictures of 'lightened' tu crankshafts do look very much butchered!!

Looking forward to seeing / hearing this at some point Josh!!

hard_corejoeboy 28th August 2012 20:09

You don't have any 'high end' car owning friends do you jp?
Would be very interesting seeing your car versus say a lotus exige or a megane RS or something like that :D
I'd imagine it would muller them.

1/4 mile and track :D

Weird how the psa frogs can built very tunable engines but the renault frogs cant

:p

P.s. sorry josh :afro:
