Right its been ages since my last up-date and since then i have had all the engine bay covers that i bought off fisher-vts re-sprayed in citroen black and my new coil pack cover finished in red from my local body shop, i fitted some of them a few weeks ago and the rest just lately because of the shitty weather we have been having!!! It really tidy's up the engine bay a lot imo but i still need to spray my battery and ecu trays and im getting a engine bay hose/wire cover set in red soon to neaten things up further, along with painting my engine block silver. The car has been manky for the last few weeks but with all the snow and ice "ere up north" it has been impossible to give the old girl a good wash!!! Excuse the state of her but i just wanted to show a few pics of the way my engine bay stands today, hope you like it!!

Heres a few shots of the salt/grit covered sax looking sorry for her self!!
Im really looking forward to giving her a good clean very soon and getting her back to how she normally looks!

Heres the shocker for me, covered over 10k in the last 8 months omg!!! Hate seeing the mileage going up.

awesome looking car, lovely and clean too (normally :P)

What's next, looking through the thread maybe some HID's would finish it off nicely?
Another suggestion would be have you thought about maybe doing the rear badges red? It'd be different maybe photoshop it on as it could potentially look nicer perhaps than the standard?

Only other thing I'd maybe do is swap your mirrors for GTi mirrors as it'd colour code very nicely maybe finish it off?

Defo one of the sweetest looking black VT's on here IMO

Very nice car m8 - wish mine was that clean :y:

Cheers for the comments mate, its funny you say that because im going to invest in some hid's as soon as i can spare the money, really need some better lighting as saxo's are fucking dangerous on dark country lanes with there shitty standard headlights and modern cars coming towards you with headlights as though there on full beam!! Ive also thought about 106 mirrors before and might invest in some in the future as they do look pretty good on SOME saxo's! As for the badges im not too keen on that idea tbh, i dont want to over do the red and make it look tacky!!

that's fine mate I wasn't sure myself just figured I'd throw the idea out there lol.

As for the GTi mirrors and HID's if you look in my progress thread at the last pic there's a pic there though my car is filthy that'll show what they're like on a black VT :)

Keep up the good work :)

Nice one, i will have a look in a bit mate. I was just wondering what the real difference is between the hid's like the 6000k, 8000k, 1200k ect is it just the colour light it gives out or is it something to do with the brightness?

sr666 11th December 2010 23:31

purely the light difference. I've got 8000k on mine and they've got a blueish tint to them. 6000K are the best for pure white and 4300K are going towardsthe yellow end of the spectrum so to speak :)

Ok thanks for that mate, i was thinking about going for 8000k my self, would you say its a big improvement over the standard lights?

sr666 12th December 2010 01:00

Yes mate defo. I've not needed to use my main beam since getting HID's, I can't stress how good they are tbh. Best mod on my car so far without a shadow of a doubt. I'm sure a lot of others on here would swear by them too :)

If you look through my thread I'm sure there'll be 2 pics you can see the difference instantly between the normal yellowish bulbs I had before (Ring Xenonmax) and the 8000K HID's.

I got mine for 3 quid delivered too from cChina including free valve caps and sidelights (nice illegal blue ones which now light up my interior)

If you do get them then get the quad white LED 501 bulbs for sidelights as your normal ones will seem stupidly yellow in comparison (I took my sidelights out till the new ones arrived :)

Sorry for long post btw :P

hard_corejoeboy 12th December 2010 20:35

What is chavy about wanting to see better at night? Standard saxo lighting is utter shite so if it means im going to be chavy if I get hid's then I might even get a 6 inch jap can and neon washer jets to go with it!

hard_corejoeboy 12th December 2010 22:30

Next time you go out for a drive look at the cars that have them..

Yeh ok then mate I will do, but imo brighter headlights and better vision at night is a win win all round.
