For now yes the wheels will stay silver thinking of getting them powdercoated yellow at some point, maybe thinking of a new colour but I'm not to sure yet

Right guys the last weekend has been rather busy for me, got hold of some 266mm callipers pads and disks, which are now fitted and feel great, had a few replacement parts, and a few little upgrades posted aswell ;) power flew rear beam mounts, powerflex wishbone bushes and some powerflex Arb bar mounts, new lower arms and track rods, new driveshaft seals and gearbox oil along with some new spark plugs and 4 new maxxis maz1 tyres all have now been fitted apart from the arb mounts, also took a trip to IMaxles to see Ian and Martin and had a nice fully recon axle lowered 60 so it's now slightly hight on the rear :) pictures below....

Right guys its been a while, since the last update I've had a few more modifications to add to the list thanks to a couple of local people braking their cars, so to begin with I have replaced the gmax rear and front standard dampers and the car is now sitting on bilstein group N dampers all round as I wanted to improve the handling before I start any more power modifications, after fitting these the car felt completely different to drive and was so planted to the road, the next few parts to go on were an oil catch tank with breather and a procomp induction kit with the green cotton air filter to replace my raceland filter, I had also got hold of some uprated gear linkages with out the clips (which was very annoying as the bottom linkage would always pop off and I'd loose gears 1st, 2nd, 5th and reverse) I tryed to get a new set of clips but had no luck, FCS was one week away, with a 1 pm track slot, and along with the linkage problem and badly worn down tyres I decided to have 4 new maxxis maz1 tyres put on the car, with the fresh rubber, I also sprayed both of my fans in moonstone blue as halfords didn't have the Icelandic paint, it's the same colour anyway haha, all was going great apart from the linkage problem. On the morning of FCS when we arrived at castle comb I went straight to the trades stands and managed to get a brand new set of baker uprated linkages, these got fitted on the stand at FCS haha. Before going on track my friend dansport had told me once I go on track I would get the bug, and he was right I had such a good time I've now decided to work on the car to get it to a street legal track car, then last week a new problem came out of nowhere and the clutch started to slip quite badly, so the next step was a nice new LUK clutch from a local car parts place, at this time I was also in talks with another friend of mine about selling his gearbox which he had on his track saxo, so with that in mind I waited a few days to collect the funds and on Sunday I went to collect the gearbox, it's a vts casing with vts ratios in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th with a 106 xsi final drive but the most important thing about it was the ABT quaife limited slip diff, once I got the box I got straight to work and had the new box and clutch in, it took just over 4 hours due to a few stubborn bolts but I have to say with out a doubt the quaife diff is the best thing I have done so far the car now handles completely different :) ill post some pictures I have taken since the last update in the next post

Looks tidy mate... im with you on the quaife, they are bloody awesome bits of kit :D

gojka 13th August 2013 10:27

I was surprised how much of a difference the quaife has made to the way the car drives

vtcarl 13th August 2013 10:37

looking good mate. good to see joes gearbox getting some use once more.

gojka 13th August 2013 10:51

Haha cheers buddy, it was a waste to see it sitting and for the money I decided it was a must haha

gojka 27th August 2013 01:58

Ok next update for the saxo popped down to stoke this afternoon to pick up some new parts, got myself all 3 vibratechnics mounts upper gearbox lower gearbox and ecu mount, now I already have a solid pugsport lower gearbox mount although I have replaced my upper baker gearbox with the vibratechnics mount and also replaced the standard ecu side mount with the vibratechnics one, the difference is great, the next things I will be looking to get are the vibratechnics wishbone mounts a lower brace and group N top mounts :)

I've now unfortunately sold the Saxo which would of been my track car but I haven't got the funds to do it right now :( I have now however own an Avus blue BMW e36 328i sport, with full service history, not a spot of rust, full black sports leathers, duel climate control, 98000 miles on the clock ( when I purchased it after a 3 hour drive back in October ) I'm not going to lie I do miss the Saxo because of it's handling capabilities but the new car is so nice to drive and being my first RWD it did feel strange haha.
The car was pretty much standard the only things that were changed were the wheels for some genuine polished M3 3.0 pre 95 wheels, and some cheap eBay coilovers which will be changed at a later date. Right now for the pictures :)

What do you guys think :)

wizardmanjm 3rd January 2014 01:37

sad, but thats a tidy beemer!

JoeHindle 3rd January 2014 03:10

Cheers for the comments, the Saxo has gone to a good mate of mine so there is always a chance to buy it back in the future:)
