I fancied this car when I saw it in the for sale section, but just too much pennies for a saxo for me. Does look very clean though.

I thought it was at first. It was thick dirt but i will keep an eye on it incase.

I didnt pay the asking price as i personally thought £1500 was abit too much.

Yeah it looks like its never been cleaned before and i was expecting some rust, maybe a soft spot but everything is immaculate! and solid so it was something i had to do asap. Will rinse them out every week and the wheels will come off once a month for a proper clean. Not letting this one go tae shit. :p

Hopefully the fronts as the same. No rust in the bay so i cant see why not. :)

Cheers.

Waxoyl them JohnGee just to be safe.

Also, explain the brake/suspension thing? I cant see how brake pads will cause the trailing arms to move to raise the rear?

Prickle 24th January 2012 15:43

Well when i pull off you can hear the pads gripping at the back, slight sqeal than it goes so i assume when im parked they are keeping it a couple mm higher. Might be wrong but i cant think of anything else. Hopefully it doesnt become too much of a problem.

rey 24th January 2012 16:09

The only way the brakes would affect how the suspension sits will be if you put the handbrake on when facing either up (raising the rear) or down (lowering the rear) a hill.

Prickle 24th January 2012 16:12

Well its just the way it is than. :)

Sophia_Bush 24th January 2012 17:41

did my arches the other day as well and a fuck load of crap came off, i'll take pic of my drive as the mud etc still there

Prickle 25th January 2012 14:32

Boring update for most but this is mainly the cleaning stage TBH.

Anyway cleaned the boot etc and also to check for rust, obviously none..

Just the front archs and whole car to wash tommorow then thats the whole car clean inside/out. :D

Then ill be happy. :P

rey 25th January 2012 14:55

Seriously minty fresh this John.

I'd be well pleased if I were you!

But crack some waxoyl or something up those arches, you're going to want to keep it that fresh.

Cheers Rey. :)

Im thinking of whipping it in a bodyshop somepoint this year for them to be re-undersealed and painted silver again in decent stuff but for now they will be fine.

Still too many pennies for me, but I went for the high mileage option and £500 in my back pocket on what you paid for this.

I need to clean mine though and check all the bodywork! Doubt mine will be this rust free on an 02 plate.

Don't give into the mods either! Although an Apex 35mm kit wouldn't go amiss ;)

Hardly done anything on mine though since I got it, got a shed full of spares and it needs an interior make over from parts taking over my living room!

Yours is a very nice motor though mate, and I don't blame you for wanting to keep it standard looking, but a 35mm drop and some 106 leathers wouldn't go amiss. I find the mk2 S interior pretty uncomfortable.

Excuse her being dirty.

LSOfreak 12th February 2012 13:50

that is a very mint example. On a 53 plate aswell which is pretty rare. Dont be scared about ruining it if you mod it though :homme: aslong as you keep things subtle then jobs a good'un. They can get pretty boring kept standard imo
