You going to kit the rest of the car up to match? (in the future) as it might look a bit odd on a standard vtr ?

If im completly honest with you mate im not a fan of body kits. Future plans will probably be that spoiler, not to fussed about the tailgate tbh, erm 15" multi alloys in black or something, get a bigger exhaust and probably a rear splitter. aint got much plans sorced yet lol

Sounds cool, best to just keep you eye out for bargains on ebay !! Shouldn't cost mega £££ to get the car how you want it then !

Youd know if you had TB's !! Pop a picture up of your engine bay if you want us to confirm it for you!

I'd say the engine was standard and just in better condition/you're a better driver hence being able to keep up. A 4-2-1 manifold isnt going to make one car quicker than the other tbh, especially on a standard engine.

Stadard yours is 98, and his is now 107 - not a massive difference tbh especially if his engine needs a service etc.

aaaaa ok then this makes a bit of sense lol ill pop 1 up tomorrow as i use my phone for the pics n it has no flash :S

xxo0pko0xx 30th November 2009 18:26

just out of intrest tho how much is a TB and whats the power outcome?? cheers :)

Azza-VTR 30th November 2009 21:11

Mate its all down to traction and how quick you can get the power down, milage on the engine, whether it needs servicing etc.
Its the bungee cord thats givin you the extra power :)
Mine feels a lot quicker since puttin the buckets in and sorting out my idle control valve :)

xxo0pko0xx 1st December 2009 15:06

ull beat me this time lol. i wont hit past 30 ;)

Azza-VTR 1st December 2009 20:59

Nearly sorted out my handbrake mate and I've got to buy a new ICV now and clean the Throttle Body out - should be performing right by then :)
May service it soon aswell even though it isn't due till March time

do it urself mate i did its a piece of piss :). changed my rocker cover as well so the engine will stop leaking oil. The dickhead previous owner reckoned he changed the oil. He did that all right but it was also over double the proper ammount in. i thought he knew about cars :S

init. problem is tho after i strapped on the radiator i filled it up to "max" with coolant then ran the engine. Had a bit of white smoke out the back (condesstation?) i assumed as it hasnt been started in over a week. Then looked back in coolant bottle to find it half empty! could it have just put more coolant into the block or you reckon all that oil has blown the head?

Azza-VTR 2nd December 2009 19:55

That doesn't sound good mate :(
Could be an airlock - have you bled the coolent system properly - otherwise you may cause an HGF!

raunchz 2nd December 2009 20:01

sounds like an airlock, keep topping it up until it goes down no more, open the bleed valves to get all the air out !

xxo0pko0xx 3rd December 2009 13:32

where are bleed valves??

xxo0pko0xx 3rd December 2009 14:44

usded guide on here to bleed the system. i also flushed it all so fingers crossed the temp should be ok now :)

xxo0pko0xx 3rd December 2009 14:55

all parts needed are now in the post!! Should have it back onn tuesday fingers crossed!

xxo0pko0xx 3rd December 2009 16:05

yh just headlamps and bonnet needed now :) opted for a fibreglass 1 to save weight. also looks good and was cheaper then the standard bonnets. for air ive popped some 15mm bonnet raisers on already with a cold air feed induction sucking just where the gap will sit :). For added secruity also purchased some bonnet pins although i dont have a clue how to fit these :S

xxo0pko0xx 3rd December 2009 16:15

ive also updated modifactions the car has all ready for when i get it back on the road :)

xxo0pko0xx 3rd December 2009 16:18

bonnet ive purchased (will fit it in this state with some posi blue citreon badge on front)
