You either need to lower it, or put the standard backbox back on imo. I just think it looks a bit daft being the only mod on the car.

Looks spotless though! And I like the yellow!

Not putting that back on. it has a chrome tip on the end so its not much different then then i have on now tbf. I thought these exhaust sat level with the bumper anyway!? mine sits out abit as you can see.

And thanks i did it to match the 'S' on the door panel. :) :oops:

I know these are only daft updates but meh..

Prickle 5th March 2012 15:55

I know most people think they are chavvy etc but the car rolled out the factory with them on so i want them back on regardless of peoples thoughts.

Yday post;

Was meant to do the '16V' badges today, the pin for the gear stick thing and brake slider stuff but the rain/snow etc has stopped that.

Tommorows job and with a ref guide as to where the badges go. ;) You will probs why im putting them back on.. because i want to and thats how it came out of the factory. :p

Today;

Fitted the slider pins etc etc and also fitted my 16V badges. :D

Next job tommorow is finish the cam cover and thats it till i get a centre section.

:D

m11ler 5th March 2012 15:59

Fair play for wanting it standard mate. If you can get it 100% mint and as it rolled out of the factory then thats pretty cool. But it does have some odd bits like the yellow calipers and the supersprint. I reckon subtle lowering and it will all look spot on. Proper oem style if anything.

Yeah i suppose but i havent got OEM++ or anything shit like that lol. (not going there)

Tbh bar the backbox and HU the car is completly standard lol. Exterior wise there isnt going to be any shit smoked headlights, silly coloured wheels or badges tbh. :) Staying as it is.

And cheers. :hug:

I'm thinking about whacking my kam system on purely because my car is immaculate and the rusty vtr backbox is letting it down big time!

Chr15 5th March 2012 16:05

needs lowering

Yes. Well mine had a pin hole in it anyway at the back of it. I had no intention of keeping the standard backbox.

Meh... Its fine Christopher.

Next update will be my centre section when i finally get one. :homme:

xscottxx 5th March 2012 16:34

looks really clean but i agree with the lowering! not only will it look 10x better, it will handle better too.

and i mean do it properly with decent springs, it will improve the car, and you can always put it back to standard anyway!

Prickle 12th March 2012 00:51

Next week i should have in the post

Catback centre section
Black paint
Powerflex exhaust rubbers

Week after should be new droplinks, new powerflex? bushes for the roll bar or w.e it is and springy exhaust bit that goes between the downpipe and cat join. Im pretty sure mine sqeaks and it looks past its best anyway. Im working around the front end uprating rubbers and making sure its pretty damn fuckin sweet.

Small updates i know but thats that. :D

Plan is to keep it as good condition as i can. Changing a few small parts over the next few weeks as i think they past it. Going by its history on the direct gov site (prev mots since new) the most its had come mot time was a leaking exhaust and pads and discs. :D its had a good life so thats win.

It should wizz through the mot this year. :A:

Anyway will update with pics and vid when i get the pipe etc this week.

Cheers.

I looked for weeks and weeks on the internet and they looked like a bag of nails most of them tbh (localish to me). I think if this one was when i looked at it i would of gave up looking for a near mint one and looked at other cars. Got lucky for a change minus the little tiff i had with the calipers and ABS sensor.. Its been trouble free for nearly a month touch wood so i can finally move onto uprating certain rubbers etc.

Extremely hard to find a decent one now days. When I found mine it was stock which was rare but dirty as fck swear the previous OP was a joker and took it down mine shafts lols.

Anyways enough of the waffling, nice car John do her proud haha

Pics before. ( i know what you're thinking, a mess. Naww.

This is also on the backbox with the same digit of '820...' so..

Bore

Underneath; Having had a proper look it looks primered/silverish so i think il scrub that dirt off. Its uber clean underneath!

Done. The Poweflex rubbers are perfect! :D I reccomend. No cable tied just adjusted to suit and it sits dead on.. doesnt knock of the bumper, nothing. Vids another day.

Cheers. I just like Standard looking Saxos better atm. Dont get me wrong i liked modded ones too i just cba to go there. Im just uprating certain parts and making sure it runs sweet which it does atm. Just a tad noisy now till i adjust again. Pops, bangs are good though.

Prickle 20th March 2012 14:02

Changed the petrol filter today and the clip thats 'meant' to support it. Old filter wasnt that bad but it had to be changed.. Wasnt that bad lost abit as you do *set back a £1 or so but all wasnt bad, The inner end you have to push a small White clip in. The rear just pulls off along with the fuel and then in teh eye :(

Old/before;

After;

On my first day off this week its going on the ramps and getting washed underneath. Pics before and after ofc.

Next are droplinks (already have but doing it all at once) and arb polybushs when i order them this week. And thats it for a month or so.

Then Kamracing gearlinkages

And a decent panel filter

Frankay 20th March 2012 14:12

Thanks man. :)

I wasnt sure at first because with the OE centre section it made the tip stick out too far and looked shit. Now with the SS centre pipe it sits nice in the recess and not in your face haha.

Next year plans are new cambelt and decent clutch. Then no idea. :/
