not much yet iam still making and buying parts. ive just started making the fuel tank.ill post some more pics soon. the tanks going under the car where the original one was but alot smaller.
i think its gonna start to be a power chase as ive just gave my mate the headn for some head work before i fit the new cams. but ive came across a turbo and ive just ordered a decompression plate. but i cant make my mind up what to do. just get it running on bodies or turbo it.i might just get it running and see what its like then turbo it later on. but its temping to just turbo it but then it will take a lot longer to make the manifolds and all the bits.what do you think

vtr_jay 14th June 2007 19:07

Its a tough one, depends how quickly you want it up and running i suppose. were a fair way into show season already, so i suppose it also depends wether or not you want to take it on the tracks.

Sticking a turbo in it now, would be a good idea though, seeing as though the cars in pieces pretty much.

6 gallon ish so it will take £30 to fill it i think it will be ok or i could put a tank the other side of the prop and use a link pipe. but i dont like the idea of running a pipe past the prop incase it brakes flames fire dead lol

easyer then i thought it was gonna be. its all the components are numbered on the bags so its just stick em in and solder em. all the instuctions are on line. ive saved a load of money doing it myself aswell. iam trying to keep it cheap so far the conversion only cost me about £400 and ive only gotta spend about another 150 to spend

i would say about 90% ive had to remake the 4 link boxes for the back so ive gotta weld them in. and finish the engine bracing but i want to fit all the engine first so i dont have to cut a load out to get it to fit.and weld the tunnel fully up but ive gotta wait till i get the prop done so iam leaving it till i get the prop back just incase. and ive gotta find some coilovers for the back end then make the mounts. its finding all the parts at the right price why its taking so long.:y:
adam

bullit 26th June 2007 19:38

come on hurry up :P

Andy_S 30th June 2007 20:02

Would you not have to line the inside of your fuel tank with somethin, with it bein aluminium?

no you dont have to line it. all the kitcars run tanks the same as this.
ive just put baffle plates in to help the fuel.
