Littlle update: while the carpets are out i thought it would be a good time to get some deaderning down using 3 packs of Silent Coat Extra Door Kit's then this is going to be coverd in Second Skin Luxury Liner Pro then some Silent Coat Noise Isolator 8 to top it off.

had to sand back and paint the floor with some anti rust paint, the car has been leaking for 3 years and had started to rust the floor slightly so thought it would be best sorting it now as im going to be undersealing the car some time soon

Wow mate that is alot of money for a battery even if its for audio.

Do you recommend any good ones cheaper than that for running the car and for audio (replace stock car battery)

Thanks

yeah there not cheap but a bargin when you think just one of these 35kg batteries can power a 4k system i had 3 big yellows and that still wasnt enough for my system these should be rock solid for my 4.4kw plus there alot smaller foot print than most batteries.

theres some cheaper makes around big yellows go for around £30 and one of thos in your boot should be good for around 1.5-2k biggest cheap battery ive had in the front is a transporter battery witch was 105ah

best bet is looking on streetbassers or talk audio for cheap battery makes on there

Sexooo 29th January 2011 00:29

tomorrows jobs are cut 4 holes in fire wall to fit my cable glands, hopfuly buy some birch if i can find any localy and make some plugs to fill the holes in the floor once rear beam has been changed

Tontsy 4th February 2011 22:20

hi mate goin to most shows this year just waiting for some more dates to be sorted then im goin to be dates up on here on where i am

liam_b 6th February 2011 12:48

well 0 gauge runs are now EMMA friendly painted the holes with anti rust to keep them rust free then used 4mm deaderning to keep it sound, air and water tight, tomorrow im going to cable tie them ever 6" plus swap them around to fit the d3100 as the positive is on the drivers side so none of the cables reach

liam_b 11th February 2011 17:49

Little update: manage to find some birch plywood at last phoned up 15 companys as all people where selling was birch faced but manage to find some solid birch for £48 deliverd still over 3 times the price of mdf but hopfuly be worth it tho.
I replaced the sub wiring from the 18gauge to 14gauge i did want to go larger but the wire was free (thanks to matty and tonto) so went with the 14. I also made all the wire the same length just so all the subs get the same resistance. I know thos kind of things have an audible difference but still nice to know every think is 100% the same lol

Tomorrow hopfuly have my 3rd pack of 4mm deaderning and some new carpet so i can get the boot back together once ive put the birch in.

liam_b 13th February 2011 12:36

update car is finaly getting back together got the 2 back panels of the boot remade in birch also made the 2nd panel better so it seals up yo the car more, the price of birch was 3times than mdf and 3kg more weight but hopfuly should be alot more stronger

cant remember why but i made a 1cm gap when i 1st made the panel so made this one a tighter fit

liam_b 18th February 2011 21:36

finaly got the new panel on used gripfill to seal it and also added some screws as for the last two years the right hand side only had one screw but all sorted now and 100% sealed

remade the bottom panels to fill the gap where the big yellows where and to hide wiring better

started todo work on the boot lid at last going to be fitting a few things on it then get it all trimed up

cheaking clearance in the boot should just about clear the amps when im done

dunno 24th February 2011 19:40

tomorrow every think should be trimed and back in

liam_b 25th February 2011 19:53

update time well 1am sunday morning i managed to get the car booming again ready for sunday got my 2nd steel angel in, gave the box a 2nd coat of gloss white, tidyed up all the wiring, got a new carpet from scrappy, done the battery holder for the rear d3100 and today trimed the rear boot trim in carbon

back of the box is now solid dont have any flex at all but now i need to sort the front of the box as that is now the weakest point is flexing more than it was

got a cuple little jobs todo this week sort out wiring so its EMMA standerd and smash thru the sun roof and get my roof trimed up in the carbon

this sunday i had my 1st competition of the year a new format ive never done called EMMA (European Mobile Media Association) happy that i walked away with 2nd place lost ten points on wiring due to one wire being too long :( all sorted now tho so should get the ten point next time next one is mod nats where theres all 4 audio formats in one place so should hopfuly cuple more trophys from there
