Oh and carpet removal but ive given up with you on that ;) |
fantastic work beanie :) your wiring skills and anal-ness is just amazing!!
Matt im glad im not the only one whos given up on josh about removing his carpet... Oh noes ill be so cold if i remove my carpet because im so used to australias drought worthy heat.... man up jp, you only ever drive this car in anger on track or to the ring lol never to the shops a little bit of carpet wont change a thing ;) just buy some grip tape and your winning. |
I thought you said you'd given up Lea?!! :D :D
|
i have now lols that was my final speech
|
This is mint mate !!
|
Has this got polycarb windows yet? Surely thats a to do at least in the back?
|
Just the rear screen is polycarb Joe, no plans to have any more polycarb windows
|
I'm not really a fan of plastic side windows, slight weight saving yes, but slight and the loss of comfort/convenience, even on a competition car, is barely worth it.
|
Ah didnt realise. Thats what i would do too. Sides are a bit extreme.
|
door poly windows are a pain in the arse when it comes to toll roads/car park gates and make the car like a green house
plus not legal on the road in the UK |
cant even begin to imagine how annoying having a catflap on the front side windows must feel!
|
How do you get the food through at the drive-thru?
|
Must need a bigger hole cutting in :D

While this has been bumped... my dad has made a new battery holder for the lithium ION battery as the old one me and Sam knocked up was a bit rushed and tatty tbh ![]() ![]() ![]() Just got to add holes to keep the battery cool and then get it powdercoated :) |

Hi Josh!
Right your body loom is complete now, just need to modify the bracket the fusebox mounts to, to accept the new fuesbox. So this meant that I can get on with the dash loom, converting it to run the new Spa dash. I had already pinned out the old dials over last night so the conversion tonight didn't take too long. This is how your dash loom is currently looking ![]() ![]() ![]() The untaped set of wires are ones for lights and dials that aren't used in the Spa but you may still want, like front and rear fog light warning lights. The speedo, oil pressure and fuel pressure wires are already insulated with a plug connectors so it may be worth getting the sensors and mounting them before we set about trying to modify the loom to fit. Hope you like? Just need to mount your dials into the dash then we can arrange fitting the loom, to finish it off |
That looks pretty Damn good for a bunch of wires! Can't wait to see what it looks like all mounted up. :y:
|
Looks ace Mr Bean!

Looks epic Beanie :D

Thank you for all the comments.
Its always nice to hear people appreciating the work that goes into every part of these cars Anyways, one more update, after a discussion with Josh via text at about midnight for him, this is pretty much how the loom will go in. The spare, untaped wires by the Spa plug are for the front and rear fog warning lights and an earth as they are needed, but there is no provision for these lights in the spa, other than that its all done. ![]() Just waiting on the carbon to mount the Spa into |
They are MOT Legal, but not technically road legal.
If you car is first used on or after 1/4/1985, it must have a specified safety glass (1980)glass complying with, and marked in accordance with either: BS 857:1967 as amended by Amendment Slips 1, 2, 3 and 4, or BS AU 178:1980, UN/ECE Regulation 43., for the Front Windows, including the windscreen. The rear windows can be Pplycarbonate, or Lexian, or any material which if fractured will not fly into sharp fragments likely to cause severe cuts if broken. The exceptions are Police or security vehcles, and plant/farm vehices. Ive had mine in for a few years now and never been pulled up on it |
Right, we've been finishing off the last few bits and bobs on this job so we're ready to arrange getting the lot fitted into the car.
First thing was to modify the interior fusebox holder to mount the new fisebox into ![]() Next up was the rather more exciting job of mounting the Spa into the standard instrument cluster. First we cut the original cluster away and made a piece of carbon to insert ![]() Then made a cut out in the carbon for the Spa ![]() After that, once happy with everything we glued the carbon in and peeled off the tape. We've still got the original 'glass' to fit once the glue is fully dried and the Spa is properly mounted, but I think you'll all agree if looks amazing. ![]() |
Looking good :-)
I left the glass off mine and fitted the red button on the left of the spa Si |
Looks great the dash design lends itself very well to spa dials
|

|

Jp has a shift light fitted allredy iirc |
Yep already got a shift light fitted,
Plus tbh if you listen to the engine / feel to the acceleration you know (as near as is really needed) when you should change gear anyway, plus with this engine it's got such good midrange I really don't need to rev towards the very top end to go quick :D |
Ah cool. A musg have imo for a high revver :)
|
The dials look amazing.
|
I've programmed mine to change colour from blue to red when it's time to change gear.
|
Yep mines programmed to do that too Danny :)
