Wednesday 6th february

A little overdue perhaps but heres the next photo update for you all.

The engine bay has had a major cleanup over the last few days with alof of degreasing, rubbing down of iffy bits and rust treating/proofing.

Didnt feel the need to take any photos of this as there was very little to show.

Bit all of the above done today we started to paint the engine bay, decided to start with the outside of the front chassis and under the arches.

Heres the results to far from that

Before paint

After

Tomorrow ill be attacking the inside of the engine bay and all being well the new part of the chassis should be welded on to cater for the ECU engine mount

New engine will be in the car by Sunday lunchtime, a completion date depends entirely on whether it all starts first time etc etc, impossible to put a date on that really.

Good spot on the page number cheers :) went for the cleaner black look, really glad i did.

Package has just arrived at work which means i can weld on the engine mount part which isnt on the 1.0 chassis.

Cheers Aid :)

jpsaxo 7th February 2008 12:57

are you painting it on with a brush or actualy spraying it mate? Only reason i say is there are a few places which its difficult to get a brush into, and it will look better sprayed on!

Thursday 7th February

Quick update today as we've only had a couple of hours there this morning/

This was plenty of time though to sort out the problem id encountered with the ECU side engine mount brackets

The original spot welds were drilled out and the assembly came off.

Marked out the holes on the chassis where welding would need to be done and cleaned back to the bare metal

Fits as snug as a bug in a rug

On the old bit

Fitted into place.

Havn't got a pic of it actually welded in place, ill take one tomorrow after ive cleaned it up and painted the engine bay

jpsaxo 7th February 2008 13:36

Get that washer bottle out the way mate, you'll want to paint behind it (underneath chassis leg)

Saxy1 7th February 2008 18:56

looking good.

LEE_VTR1 7th February 2008 19:05

I think he means it will be in the engine bay, not wired up, exhaust fitted etc etc
