Just had an auto electrician round, and no joy. He has wired everything up as it should be but the car isnt turning over.

It fires every once in a while and it seems that the spark from the plugs is very weak.

So just going to try new plugs and hope that works, but its looking like it will be sold as it stands at the minute. If any one wants to make an offer?

seem alittle werid this one, sure you have not hit or moved anything you should have?

hope you sort it,

andy

It lives again.well idles.press the accelarator and it goes to stall.I'm assuming that's because I haven't been able to set the throttle pot yet?

Also it smells like it has petrol in the oil, probably from too much fuel pressure the first time I started it.how bad is having fuel in the oil?

It will be changed as soon as I can get the car moving.

But at least it's one hurdle crossed.

glad you got it started, :y:

hope you get it going and moving now so it ready for next friday mapping

And me,need to get the throttle set so I can move it,thn get the oil changed and off to mapping.

makaveli144 30th June 2009 14:12

Well it is now driveable.I'm sat in the garage having the oil changed to get the fuel out of it.

The kms is doing and ok job of sorting the fueling out on the fly it flicks between lean and rich a few times if you change the throttle position dramatically.but that should be sorted when it goes for mapping on Friday.

The car is quite a bit different to drive currently, there is less torque low down (below 3k) but obviously I can't comment on it properly until it has been mapped.

But to say I'm happy is a understatement.

Drama queen aint ya lol, glad it all seems to be on the mend now tho

makaveli144 30th June 2009 15:27

I fitted the Bonnet raisers today, they dont look too bad in my opinion.

lovely car mate, i have to say mauritius blue is the best colour!

raunchz 4th July 2009 16:03

Quite like the raisers, think I might put them on mine and let the bodies breathe better!

Marcus000 4th July 2009 16:05

Car looks mint apart from the bonnet, the raisers just make it look like it's not sitting right!!
Looks odd to me. :S

There is a reason for the raisers though, to let the bodies get more/cool air. I havent done it for styling purposes.

yeh, I've got a mark where the bonnet rubber at the back rubs on my air filter, need to raise it around 15mm I think. Roughly how much is yours raised? What you use it raise it? Washers?

Mieran 4th July 2009 16:12

No I bought the kit think off ebay but changes the washers for my own as the ones that came with the kit were crap. Its raised roughly around an inch.
