any luck on fixing the problem? Got it on the diagnostics?

Not yet man :( I away to check the plugs and that just now as its kinda like a misfire tbh. Could be something on them from when the head was off never checked. Ill report back :)

raunchz 5th December 2009 13:04

yeh cool, good luck with it! Hopefully its something easy to fix and away you go !

andymiller_VTR 5th December 2009 13:26

just changed the plugs and they were all suited to fuck :(

But even with the new ones its still misfiring after about 2 mins of running :(

Gonna change the valve clearances back to the piper settings and see it that helps any once its cooled down.

andymiller_VTR 5th December 2009 14:40

nope thats made no difference either. Actually no idea what it is. Its going to a garage on monday however ive got no idea how im getting it there as its misfiring so much i can't get it to move lol

vtr_chris90 5th December 2009 15:52

if the plugs are that sutted up it could be a lambda thats gone, cause it doesnt take much to fuck them up, i had a fairly new one on just before i fitted my cam and cause i had timings wrong and it was overfueling my plugs were completly black like they were just dipped in block power, and the car over a period of a week or 2 had run no more than 2 hours and when i finally got it running it missfired like a bitch it turned out that the lambda was fucked, and yet it was fine before i cammed it lol

but still best to check on the diagnostics to find out, could be 1 of many things that causes the prob

andymiller_VTR 6th December 2009 15:16

That could make sense actually because the engine management light has been flashing since its started misfiring bad. Ive checked already and there both plugged in so might explain it. Would also explain the overfueling its doing.

Just gonna have to fight with it to get it to a garage tomorrow haha.

andymiller_VTR 10th December 2009 22:38

well after 4 days in the garage its not anybetter tbh. It over heats now and the fan gets stuck on even when the engines off.

Just going to put the standard cam back in.

Liam_ 10th December 2009 22:40

Stick the standard cam pulley back on imo and use the locking hole - that way, you can be sure it's at standard timing. Failing that, have the fault codes read!

Kev_Vtec 10th December 2009 22:41

thats so unluck mate. hope it runs right with the standard cams back it

andymiller_VTR 10th December 2009 22:41

na mate just putting the standard one back in. Getting a garage to do it properly.

Krys_23 10th December 2009 22:42
