that looks awesome mate
very well done would any colour LED work? sorry if thats a stupid question but i think some have different resistance, and require different power? Barney |
yes mate any colour will work as long as its the led pictured on the top of page 4 :y:
there a SMD SMT LED :) |
looks really good!!! how long it take to do all that??
|
can anyone tell me if the leds are the same in a mk1 as they are in a mk2?
lou |
no mk1s are just a bulb, twist and pull the mk2s have LEDs :y:
|

OMG Steve you git! I suppose it serves me right for being so damn lazy. Iv had a spare set of dials at the workshop for like... ever... and been meaning to try and do this. Now not only am i not gonna be the first but i owe you green blob too *sigh*

make sure u pull the speedo and revs one off with ur fingers and make sure u use plyers to pull the other ones off coz if not u will brake them |
Do mk1s have clear needles? Do they light up?
|
that looks well good! deffeinetly something i'm going to consider doing to my sax! good how-to as well mate!
|
got my leds today but my god there small lol, i should be having a go tomorrow :y:
Best way to get the needles off is to use two spoons one either side and lever them up at the same time so applying the same pressure either side :y: |

Im gonna give this a bash as soon as i can get a hold of my mates solderin iron. Race ya :A: |

thats will only work on the speed and rev needles but its a very good method i used it on my punto gt when i did them, i was gona do it with mine but couldnt get a good feel for it so used my fingers to pull it instead so i could feel the resistance etc... the oil, petrol and coolant temp needles will definatly need pulling with plyers as shown in my pics as there is nothing for the spoon to go under apart from the start of the needle which is to easily broken |
im seriusly impressed looks complicated to do though but well done
