that looks awesome mate

very well done

would any colour LED work?

sorry if thats a stupid question but i think some have different resistance, and require different power?

Barney

Predator_R32 24th March 2007 22:15

yes mate any colour will work as long as its the led pictured on the top of page 4 :y:

there a SMD SMT LED :)

lou_vtr 24th March 2007 23:12

lou_vtr 25th March 2007 17:01

lou

Predator_R32 25th March 2007 17:04

its easy to get them back on where they were, just note where there lined up 2 before u take them off then when u put them back on turn the bit the needle goes onto back untill it stops and then push the needle back on lining it up to the place it was before u took them off

make sure u pull the speedo and revs one off with ur fingers and make sure u use plyers to pull the other ones off coz if not u will brake them

Mystic 27th March 2007 11:17

Do mk1s have clear needles? Do they light up?

ckings6056 27th March 2007 15:18

that looks well good! deffeinetly something i'm going to consider doing to my sax! good how-to as well mate!

Predator_R32 27th March 2007 15:21

got my leds today but my god there small lol, i should be having a go tomorrow :y:

Best way to get the needles off is to use two spoons one either side and lever them up at the same time so applying the same pressure either side :y:

Careful if your using cutlary without paying full attention, if i had a dime for every bolt & nut iv eaten... id be able to afford to repace them all again ;)

Im gonna give this a bash as soon as i can get a hold of my mates solderin iron.

Race ya :A:

thats will only work on the speed and rev needles but its a very good method i used it on my punto gt when i did them, i was gona do it with mine but couldnt get a good feel for it so used my fingers to pull it instead so i could feel the resistance etc... the oil, petrol and coolant temp needles will definatly need pulling with plyers as shown in my pics as there is nothing for the spoon to go under apart from the start of the needle which is to easily broken

Lee_P 27th March 2007 17:22

im seriusly impressed looks complicated to do though but well done
