just read on previous page your using a decomp plate.. what CR ratio will the engine be now?
|
9:1 decomp package.
waiting for silicone hoses to turn up from SFS. soon as they are here its then just a case of get it built up and running. then just a case of a descision on exhaust system. and mapping. - colin. |

Looks like a lovely engine, but whats with the massive gap between the morettes and the front bumper? Especially on one side.
|
Everyone doing the black front grill and light thing now :'(
Are they Ross old set? |
cannot wait for this to be done. make sure im the first person who knows the results and i want pics of the RR graph ;)
|
BOOOM that is looking good
|
that looks beyond yummy!!
me likey :y: |
Looking oh so very noiceeeee.
|
looking very nice m8,
is going to be awsome. |
made a few changes to it, ive swapped the 8" suck fan fan for a 10" blow fan.. purely because there was room and its allowed me to run the boost pipes a bit neater, also supported from the coilpack bracket now cos they were unsupported before.. so subsequently a bit floppy! so thats that sorted.
exhaust parts havent turned up as of yet, im hoping tomorrow, i can then set about making an exhaust system for the car, mandrel bends, full stainless etc. should be certainly easier to make than my 3" system.. that was quite tight for space, 2.5" will give bit more room for error. i will try get some pics of this as i build it. as for bumper fitting, i dont think the car is going to win prizes for bodywork, will leave that down to dan. i think thats next on dans to do list - i think hes going on the theory it will be too fast for anyone to notice ;) as for power, the gt25R is a 250bhp turbo, dan has said hes not chasing silly figures, and hes aware his gearbox has limited lifespan. i will map the car up to 1bar boost, but the gizzmo will give dan selectable boost memories, so he hasnt got to run it at full boost all the time, even half a bar or 0.75bar will be plenty for him to get used to! these things are fantastic fun with little turbos!! make an awesome road car. also remember people.. this is a STOCK engine apart from ARP rod bolts and a decomp plate :) at present the car has my old 2.5" system roughly fitted to the car.. i strapped the car on the dyno tonight. so tomorrow morning we could see some mapping ;) will make sure i get pics etc. its up to dan if he announces his power figures, we have strict confidential rules about announcing customer power figures without permission (unlike some places) - colin |
hold on a sec! your car looks awfully familiar :detective: lol do you remember me at a little north london meet ages ago with tufty vtsmarv and sean?
would love to see your car now, seems alot has changed :y: |
![]() ![]() :) also, just spoke to courier company, i am expecting 2 boxes of stuff for your car today (fingers crossed) i can then crack on with the exhaust system! - colin |
Looks very tidy.......very nice work ATSpeed!!
Omex looks a very neat unit in the engine bay aswell...........trying to make decisions on ecu's etc etc is driving me insane. |
fitting them in place of stock ecu makes install much faster (and cheaper) means we can utilise the stock main power relay etc. and by time we have routed the wires and the ecu cover is back, nobody is none the wiser. ecu in car looks very good, especially when combined with all fuse box relocations etc, full wire tuck.. but takes a long time, so makes for a big bill!
we try to make the turbo conversions look as though they are supposed to be there from factory. takes a lot of planning - but ive done 1 or 2 before ;) by time dan adds on his ecu cover and coilpack cover, should look quite nice i think. silver and black for a silver and black car :) - colin. |
Looks awesome colin! Literally cannot wait to have it back!! :)
|
Looks flaming awesome:P i so cannot wait now till mine is up with colin;) dan i'd get some bilt hamber dynax ub aerosol underseal for your inner chassis parts where your ecu is etc that will kill rust altogether, this is the stuff http://www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk/det...VyP3NvcnRieT0= or if your planning on spraying bay then forget the dynax:P

keep us posted mate on any updates. :D

well its all mapped bar some cold start fettling in the morning. car made good power too. should be very fun to drive, its very responsive and quick turbo spool :)
i have stayed late tonight to finish building the exhaust system. its all tacked in place ready for stainless welding tomorrow, once done that its just a case of making some stainless hangers, give the tailpipe a good polish, and the car is good to be collected :) here are exhaust assembly pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() - colin |
