Don't take offence....buy a real one! VTS ftw!!!!!!!!!!!1

Not everyone can afford to run and insure a VTS you know. |
Why are some people like get a vtr and everything lol im sure if he could afford one he would have one the same as me but he is tryin to make the most of what hes got. i have a 1.1i and a 1.5d i would prefer to have a vtr but my finances and my points are stopping me
|
when i blew my engine like a tit in my 1.1 i hade the clock but like said previously no clock shows the true reading just a guideline and for me to do the clock i had no rear seats no plastics in the rear or anything not even a spare tire i even took out the " optional" extras from the engine bay to do the clock. believe me there is no point in modding a 1.1 to do serious speed.
modding to look good and sound good is totally different id rather look good and sound good than knackering up my engine as i previously found out. to go quick get a bigger engine and mod that to go quicker |

I know my car's only a 1.1, and i know i should be shameful of this lol. But it'll beat a lot of cars off ht eline due to having no weight; i couldnt give a shit about anything faster than lets say.... 60; cause any car on the road can beat that tbh. Everyone can say ' oh i beat a 3.0 audi the other day ' but a lot depends on the driver rather than the car. I'd listen to everyone else, get a vtr/s Im saving up for an A3 or 1 series next year :D |
if you dont want to buy a vtr/s i imagine a vtr conversion would cost no more than about £600, and a vts conversion maybe closer to £800 parts and labour
|
Making my saxo 1.1 faster;
Engine conversion is the only way that makes sense. |

I've not read the whole topic - apologies - I'm a bit drunk and lazy...
Just had thoughts though... Why not fit a VTS/GTi rear axle on poly mounts, with GTi 25mm ARB, and billie B8 shocks, slightly lowered. You get the discs at the rear. Then you get the B8 fronts, solid tops and 155 faulkner springs, lower strut brace. Then you get the GTi wheels and some sticky rubber. You've got an awesome handling car you can learn to drive properly at safer speeds, and as your experience grows, because the car is modular, you can simply mod the engine because your chassis will be sorted!! As and when funds/insurance allows it. You can have your cake and eat it - it's loads of fun skipping round the outside of people on roundabouts because you've not had to brake!! Andy |
...orrr alternativly drive it off dover cliffs.
Gotta add about 50 brake atleast innit? oh and 115 out of a 1.1? hahhahahahaha. |

n im going off like everyone else, 100 and odd in a 1.1? wtf i got to 115 in my old escort 1.4 and i shit myself at that speed, most i've got to in my vtr so far is 80? and when i brake i shit myself cause of how much the car shakes and rattles so with the brakes on a 1.1, you're just plain silly and have a death wish tbf. 1.1s were made for little round trips and that, thats what all small engined cars are for, not for going fast and sporty type, if you want fast then get a bigger engine hence why there is the vtr and vts?? duh simples sorry rant over people :panic: |
Ok simple answer, run your 1.1 about. save up and gain no claims and then buy a vtr instead or save a little more and buy a vts. Instead of adding things to a 1.1 thats going to cost alot and not really do alot. You will see this from alot of people on here. Its just common sense.
|
113 out of 1.1? top speed 103 or summin like that aint it?
|
aye thats if youve got the wind behind you.
|
has anyone ever cammed a 1.1 i have it got 100bhp
|
after reading this thread im now depressed thet i only ever had 95 in my furio on flat:(
|
A 1.1 at 100mph feels like the Columbia Space Shuttle on re-entry

(Also, I think he was taking the piss) |
My 1.1 does
1st = 35 2nd = 60 3rd = 75 4th = 100 5th = 100+ (I don't wana go over 100 = Instant Ban if caught) Changing gear at about 5,000RPM I have induction kit, breathing mods, Full Exhaust System (4-1 Piper Manifold, Standard VTR Center Section and a Group N BackBox.) Neither of my Lamber Sensors are plugged in, I don't think that makes a difference but I found it made it run richer due to the ECU being like Ehh? I'll just keep throwing fuel in then lol. Which made it accelerate much quicker :) MK2 1.1, 65,097Miles. |
Quote:
Random amounts of more fuel does not equal more performance, only more fuel wasted and falling out your exhaust. Your car will not accelerating quicker by starving the ECU of the sensors it needs. |

my 1.1 hits the limiter in 5th without trying all I've done is it fit an induction kit
|
Well my 1.1 5 door mpi did at least 97.3 mph but that wasn't redlining, AND i've got a speed ticket from an undercover to prove it :(

my saxo tends to get to about 102 then starts to shake!!
the manual says it can get to 101 so its about right so theres no way it can get to 113 or what ever people are saying here. unless they have been doing some serious modifiying |
You can put a induction kit in it
& exhaust & what ever Theres still no getting away that it is a 1.1 unless you get a VTR engine and stick it in there. that would be good |
