I'm jealous of those white comp's. :( Might have to go white with mine, are they difficult to keep clean?
and are yours the rounded ones or the flat ones? hard to tell!

ed-bradley 17th November 2011 22:47

Haha :D Iye, I love them.

Err yeah, they're an arse to keep clean. Ideally, they need cleaning everyday, or the brake dust just bakes on.
I could do with refurbishing them over winter tbh. Last time I didnt really do them properly.
Also they're the slightly rounded ones :( I'd prefer the flat faced ones, but I can't find any at all.

sam_16v 17th November 2011 22:50

looking good hopefully the engine will be ok im currently doing a s conversion in mine

ed-bradley 17th November 2011 22:52

Cheers :)

Ahh you've got the easy bit out of the way. Getting mine back in was a pain in the gooch. So much jiggling and dicking about getting it to line up. I was on the verge of leaving it I was that stressed Lol.. Good luck :D

Sophia_Bush 17th November 2011 22:55

aye bad shit on the engine mate from what we all talked about earlier hopefully you will get it done

ed-bradley 17th November 2011 22:57

Yeah fingers crossed.

If its still duff, I'm sure a fuck load of SteelSeal will sort it :D Haha.
There an Engine for sale I've got my eye on, its a bare engine again.. But now i've sussed the conversion out, and have all the bits. It shouldn't be a tough do.
I'll just try and get this one going and decide what to do then. I'm having withdrawal symptoms from not driving it for so long though, I've been stuck with a 307 HDI for a week and its gay as fuck. :D

boony 17th November 2011 22:59

What is all this shit about the fucking engine it's a different one anyone with a problem pm me and I'll sort it out / cunts

sam_16v 17th November 2011 23:02

Lewis 17th November 2011 23:05

2 trolley jacks and you should be alright :) 3 people will make it alot easier. 1 on the jacks, 2 to piss about wiggling it into position.

I no yeah, his excuse was " I drive a diesel van, clutches are gay on petrols.."
The fuck.:homme: He's giving me £70 anyway, so I'm not fussed. Thats half a trackday paid for so its all good.

Ahh Cheers man, I plan on repainting it at some point. A matte colour though, I've seen a local guy in a purple rattle canned S13, and I think the colour is awesome, so I'm looking at Grey or Black rattle cans. yeah, atleast knowing saxo owners will see the 3 studs and think nothing of it, Until they hear my 16v's go Bwarple. Haha. I do plan on changing from 3 to 4 studs though at some point, I've got a rear S beam in the garage. I want to buy the rest all at once though,so I can do it in a day. Until then, I'll take it easy

i might be hiring a hoist for £20 :)

ed-bradley 17th November 2011 23:21

Bargain, Deffo do that. It'll make your life far easier.

I wish I'd done that now, Ideally I need to buy one for future use :)

Dom 18th November 2011 00:03

Boony,

That is my old engine. I can even point out the exact reasons why that is my old engine. Various markings, parts missing etc.

Also, it was fucked. Headgasket problem, also pissing out oil, and dropping power to the extent it wasn't even getting over 30mph on the M1, i.e. fucking lethal.

Want me to explain why? PM me. I won't be online tonight, I got other shit to do.

Stop giving out the abuse on Sax-P as well. Deal with this in a proper fashion.

ed-bradley 18th November 2011 16:32

Right after yesterdays palava, I tried cracking on with the engine today.

Its bolted in,Wired up...sort of. And filled with fluids- Bar coolant. (I'll get to that shortly) -_-

First if all, I was missing a TPS and MAP sensor, I'm about to go and get one now from the lad i'm getting my exhaust off.. Hopefully, they'll be the right ones.
So the engine wouldn't fire up, obviously. But when I turn the ignition on the Fuel pump sounds like hell.. It sounds like its priming, but does it for about 20 Seconds..
Not even a cough from the engine, just cranking and cranking.
In addition to this, My dials/clocks are playing silly buggers too. When the ignition is on,the majority of lights are on, on the dash. High/low beam, handbrake, one indicator arrow. Just all illuminated. So fuck knows whats going on here.

What marks are these then and look in my progress thread you will see that it's a different engine

ed-bradley 18th November 2011 19:42

Collected my OMP exhaust earlier, via a Lift by my mum.
It needs a Clean up and a polish, but it was a bargain. Also got a couple of sensors at the same time, Turns out one is the wrong one.. So I'm still in need of a MAP sensor.

Sophia_Bush 18th November 2011 21:41

you do realise you have the best exhaust ever now

ed-bradley 18th November 2011 21:49

I do :D Thats why I'm wanting to get it on my car...

And I only paid £40 for it. Uber winning.
I've been looking for one for ages, I saw one on ebay a few months ago and wish I'd bought it. That was until this one came up on here. Just need a new manifold to suit, I'm looking at a GMC manifold, so I'll see to it when my engine runs :)

Sophia_Bush 18th November 2011 22:38

oooo you lucky bastid! I remember when I had same omp on my old gti with usualy stuff fuck me that was crazy

ed-bradley 18th November 2011 22:54

:D I can't wait to get it on, Need to buy a Decat 1st as my 1.1 Cat is a different lengh.

Been searching for some video's of the same exhaust and It sounds pretty awesome if i do say so myself, hopefully it'll sit nicely in the bumper to.

Sophia_Bush 18th November 2011 23:36

oh believe me you will make that exhaust fit no matter what lol

ed-bradley 19th November 2011 23:30

Right then,

After asking for some help on here.. I may be getting somewhere..
I've had a few loose odds and ends, mainly being a couple of sensors and Vacuum pipes from the brake servo and FPR.

I'd like someone, if possible to give me abit of advice, so I can try and get it running.

-Would having no Vac pipe on the end of the FPR cause it not to start? Low fuel pressure?

- I've also been told, I may have to change an FPR in my fuel tank? I haven't touched anything to do with the fuel tank, pump or fpr (If there is one in my 1.1 tank?)

Id imagine it would struggle to start with no vaccum pipe attached to fpr. Also dude you dont have to change the fpr in tank and rail i just did it for piece of mind.

And i have a stainless steel decat pipe here for vts if you want it £20

ed-bradley 20th November 2011 19:44

Ahh cool, that gives me piece of mind sort of Lol.
I'll hopefully sort that tomorrow, along with the TPS, Reckon it'd start or fire with no MAP sensor in?

I'll take that Decat to sometime this week hopefully, Just got to buy a few more bits before hand like. :)

sam_16v 25th November 2011 18:16

nearlly there mate i have a spare map sensor FS if you need one
does it look like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-SA...item4aafd8834f

ed-bradley 25th November 2011 19:11

Iye, nearly there :) Once i've got the ecu then it should fire up, i think. Lol

Ahh its alright mate, I sorted a MAP sensor from saxovtrmk1 :) He's sorted me half the bits on the engine to be honest haha.

sam_16v 25th November 2011 19:12

ok mate yeah hes sorting me to lol

ed-bradley 1st December 2011 22:35

IT RUNS, finally ffs!

The crank sensor was to blame! I must of had one from a different model or something, Tried one from Saxdazza's vtr and spliced the plug in, and BOOM..fired up straight away.

So it Lives, it runs. I'm yet to drive it yet, as I need to bleed the cooling system and give everything a once over. :) I'll get some pictures up tomorrow

jonesyFX 1st December 2011 23:54

Hats off, good luck!

Exhaust should sound ace too ;)

Thanks Man:y:

I do owe alot of praise to load of mates on here though. If it wasn't for them, It'd never have got running!
Ahh, I can't wait to get that exhaust on. I need to get a VTR/S decat before I can put it on, until then I'm using the old crappy 1.1 system:homme:

Can't wait to drive it again though! Need to take it easy for a couple of weeks, as I've still got the same brakes on, Can't swap them over to the others until I've got the discs from my dads like.

Cheers mate, yeah I must admit the wheels were a marmite thing. I did like them for abit tbh aswell, but they were a pain to keep clean as i didn't paint them properly. I've got another set of Compomotives though now, and I'm tempted to paint them a bright colour and just use them every now and then :)

this is how mine stands

ed-bradley 2nd December 2011 18:49

Need to get the Sideskirt back on now after it was ripped off in anger. :)

Still need to tidy the bay up, but it'll do for now.

**Also, random problem** My dials have gone awall.. When I turn the ignition to the 2nd position, the clocks light up like this.. If I put the indicators on, the lights that illuminate the Dials flash.. -_- Reckon its a dodgy earth?

Yeah, brakes are next on the list :) I'll be sorting them in a couple of weeks, either by having a dick about with some 266mm and trying to convert them to 3 stud or I'll buy some new struts, wishbones etc and do it the easy way.

Mega, I better give him a nudge then ;) Ahh, just little things then, still a ball ache I guess like.
Yeah my dash is lit up like a christmas tree.. I must have a dodgy connection somewhere or something, nothing works as it should Lol

sam_16v 2nd December 2011 19:58

my dials played up when the earth in the passenger side footwell was loose you have to peel carpet back near where door hinges also the earth is a 10mm next to a dash mounting
