Just a few bits and bobs, main thing to get done is the BE box to make it more reliable, and heavier :(

Sam 12th January 2014 09:41

[QUOTE=jpsaxo;6409358, and heavier :([/QUOTE]

More carbon is required then ;)

welshpug 12th January 2014 10:07

its not that much, 5-6 kilos at the most I bet on the box itself, maybe a little on the shafts too.

Far outweighed by the reliability they give the package.

Just have a big poo.

or leave your wallet with Colin :p

Alanapone 12th January 2014 11:29

Ahh, cool. Satchshift as well?

jpsaxo 12th January 2014 12:55

BE satchshift of course Alan :D

yeah definitely agree the extra weight is worth it!

Sam - where??!! lol

AndySAXO 12th January 2014 13:38

Carpet out? That will help! Get it out!

jpsaxo 12th January 2014 13:41

Rather go for a massive shit before hand and keep the carpet in Andy lol

Alanapone 12th January 2014 14:14

You need to donate you old satchshift to someone really cool?

welshpug 12th January 2014 14:46

he wont be having a new one, just swap two small parts.

Alanapone 12th January 2014 15:15

Ahh, I see.

Is some of Mr Satchell's engineering talents going up front, was recently looking at the rear end suspension.

Rather enjoying going through this progress thread every few months start to finish... To keep my enthusiasm going again.

sje00 14th January 2014 04:19

Bit of both. I think ive been unlucky with MA's more than anything else;

1st box I destroyed when driving it home after my clutch decided to throw its dummy out of the pram

2nd box the quaife decided to shit itself (while on the ring to note!!) , wrecked the box and took a chunk out of the gearbox casing too

3rd box destroyed 4th gear which completely mashed the rest of the box

4th box is perfectly fine but the driveshafts have let go

gregMK 18th January 2014 09:25

Brilliant build pal

unreal106 18th January 2014 16:00

Fantastic work josh like how your bringing this on another step this year

jpsaxo 27th January 2014 02:02

Thanks Tom :D

About time I did a proper update for this instead of just posting up random pictures....Some of these pics I have already posted up.

So.....

First up a cool picture I thought;

The 'boring' but essential maintenance side of the work done while I'm away by my close mate Chris, brother + dad which im so grateful for!

Dad turning over the engine

Sam & Chris

In PFC again, from FCS 2013

Custom coilpack gel badge i've had made up;

I was back in the UK for a couple of weeks over Christmas so spent a few days (AKA as much as the mrs would let me!) up at my garage to get the car ready for its new goodies

As we started

First I put the dials back in after they had a holiday to SPA to rectify a software glitch from the prior custom reprogramming

Both 'pages' all working

Clearly my mrs thought the new set of SuperL's for my road wheels were part of her wardrobe lol

Engine coming out;

Nearly done

All done

Some expensive twisted metal

My MA vts FD Quaife gearbox that is for sale

Front suspension off to a new home

Car ready to go on its holidays

Arrived at its chosen location all safe and sound

Dean sent me a teaser pic;

jpsaxo 2nd February 2014 00:14

Judging by the pictures Dean didn't need much help to butcher it up lol!

Good job it's not there any more then by the sounds of it Stew ;)

As if.... you could do that with a BE gearbox and a diff !!
Come on confess , you want to see more gain from corner weight correction and front end stiffening!!

basically you are aiming at building the badest saxo around !!!!:afro:;)

Your not wrong... The engine mount shown in one of the pictures above will help balance the front end out :P

But what about the rear end?! ;)

AlexFocusST 22nd March 2014 07:25

I am sure Mr Satchell can help you out there too!!!

Are you going for standard width or wider??

willsy 22nd March 2014 09:08

More pictures mate!!!! Moooooooorrrrrrreeeeee nnnnnooooowwww!

sexy_gt 23rd March 2014 07:37

Looks great so far josh ;)

Jack-Cooley 23rd March 2014 08:25

Looks stunning, is that bracket on the lower arm section(not the lower strut) another lower engine mount?

if so thats a brilliant idea

Alanapone 23rd March 2014 09:54

I love the work Sandy puts into the gear he makes! The fabrication work and thought that goes into each product is mind boggling... And considering these cars are so old, its amazing to think that things are still being developed for them!

More pics when you get them JP. Looks amazing so far.

Your correct Jack, it's now running on 4 engine mounts. Also slightly different geomatery compared to the standard configuration

Cheers Alan - you are correct, it's brilliant that these guys are still investing time and effort to improve the fundamental flaws of the standard equipment on these cars

Sandy does the engines (that's more than enough to keep him busy for the foreseeable future) - I believe he's booked up for approx the next 2 years

Colin (Satchell) & Dave (Vanstone) are the guys that fettle with the chassis along with Sandys input. So I must say a HUGE thanks to Dave & Colin for the chassis work they have done. There's A LOT more than meets the eye in these pictures I have put up so far...

Did you say more pics? I have plenty... Here's another then ;)
